Most franchises out there these days have an accompanying toyline to go with it. some are great, some could be better, and some just feel like a complete waste of time.

So, topic here is what toylines, in full or in part, you think are truly disappointing or completely unrequired.

For me, a lot of movie franchises feel like they're phoning it in. But was recently disappointed on how bland the Tron: Evolution line was. The light up features on the figures was neat, but they just looked really cheap and felt they could have done more with them... Would like for them to have done figures from the video game, or even the first movie.

I didn't buy TDK toys, but I do have a complete unopened set of the first wave of Star Trek toys.

Agreed, and no. Never liked the Batman toys they released... Too many of them were just variations of the last figure, but with a new gimmick.

The last airbender
Green lantern movie line
back to the future minimates (not bad in their own right but I was dissapointed becouse at first they were promoted as a toyline not a minimate line)
The Non movie master Batman movie line (although I do thank them for giving me something cheap to buy for my nephew during that years xmas)

I think it is funny how many people mentioned the Batman figures, since just a couple days ago some dude literally gave me a set. They're great for kids to play with, but adult collectors would shun them in a heart beat. I really wish that cheaper quality toys like the Batman and Green Lantern ones would reflect their quality with a low price - that way they will definitely end up in the hands of their intended market - kids.

I agree with Green Lantern, Batman Begins, The Last Airbender and Tron:Legacy (Evolution was the VG, and I don't recall it having its own sub-line), as crappy toy lines. Mediocre lines would be from the Stark Trek reboot and Avatar.

Thanks for the correction there, trebleshot... Dunno how I made the mistake there! ^^; But it would have been nice if they actually branched into the video game, there were some interesting characters in it.

Oh, and I absolutely hated the Last Airbender toyline... They are perhaps the most dull looking toys out there.

Any of those Narnia or Prince Caspian toys. The Castle was cool and catepolt but the figs were not even woth getting for parts. Most anything Sunbeam, Playmates, & Mezco does. Even the Ben 10 & Generator Rex figs could have been awesome if the right company made them.

I wouldnt call any toy line unneccessary as im sure there are children and even some collectors that happened to like them.
Obviously the Green Lantern toy line was very disappointing and the Thor line wasnt all that great either.
Starting to read this thread, I was thinking that the thread title was going to be disappointing/unneccesary threads/posts, haha....there we might be on to something.

I found both lines had one redeeming factor: when clearanced they made good fodder bin material. Faceman, albeit a tad short is a nice base for a Tony Stark figure. Nabbed a few for just that.

I had the A-Team van in hand at TRU a couple of months ago on sale for $12 and put it down. Now im kicking myself since I would have used it as another vehicle for the upcoming Dreadnok 7 pack.

I'm surprised you didn't pick it up at that price simply for a Punisher van custom. I know if I had ever seen it that cheap, I would have snatched it up.

Even though they weren't good, I still regret not getting a set of the A-Team figures. Loved the show as a kid and the movie wasn't that bad (IMO).
