That's kinda bad, Xavier's the one I really want I'll be glad if they make one that's a Homage to the ToyBiz Xavier which I have on my shelf [which is pretty cool]

Thing I've noticed about this line is I'm on and off with it same with comics....so basically I'll be interested in it for maybe 2 more figures then I'll get tired of it and pack em away....

If you really want to go for it, nobody stopping you. But as someone who is self proclaimed retired, take a breather, save your $$ it's not burning a hole in your pocket, so I'd say bank your cash flow, unless you wanna be like Jay-Z and "retire" aka stop for a month then come out with a new album lol. Personally if you've never started collecting this then I wouldn't get started, you have other toy lines you're focusing on finishing so worry about getting hard to find and rare items for the thing you have passion for. Would make more sence. I see awesome figures all the time and ask myself should I buy them or start collecting, deep down you gotta ask yourself is this going to make me happy or content with spending $$ on it. If the answer is no then stick to what you got. There's tons of MU figures both old and new, and if your going to be selective then sure pick up a few, but if your a completist, stay the fuck away as there's some such as the mail away figures, comic con exclusives, and variants that will cost you a premium, blade and colored vision come to mind.

I Think I'll probably step away from the line....sure they're some cool figures but yeah since I am retired I need to really avoid lines that would get me back into it.

I do need to take a breather for sure, between the rush to complete my master to get list I don't need to add another couple things to the list for sure.

Lots of good points here in this thread.

Right now I do want to take a breather, bad thing is I think Toy Ark is trying to convert me to a Marvel Collector.....stop trying to assimilate me with your awesome!

I mean between all the lines I collected from Anime [You don't want to know the pain of the paypal account it can cause collecting just a few figures especially Kotobukiya/Orchid Seed/Max Factory/Alter and other expensive companies who make the figures after all when a Figure can cost you $150 that can blow your entire budget in a week just getting 3 or 4 characters plus with the exchange rate of the yen and dollar fluctuating at times it hurts worse] Gi Joe, Gundam,Star Wars,Star Trek, Transformers, Comics -Mainly Fathom/ and the Art Prints- PHEW......Yeah I need to stop myself right now before I get caught up in all this again.

This why this type of thread is good, to ask a simple question to those of you who already have become hopeless addicts to this line....helps me get it in perspective of what will happen if I Do collect the line.....I just wish they had some of the stuff I'd really like to get for a "Signature" collection of Marvel X-Men figures out there you know like some of the Main original mutants even though they got some I know but right now It's starting to look more like an Impulse Buy.

The 2 I got today I'll decide if I want to open them, course Wolverine's awesome.....still....after feeling that old impulsive urge to buy Sabertooth earlier this afteroon I put that feeling down fast so I Need to probably take a break from Toy Ark as well....[Too many Marvel related stuff popping up right now I'm working to pick a few RTS Transformers I'm looking for now but prob will stop there]

Thanks fellow Arkers, good thing I just get to see how this line can warp your brain into being a slave to Hasbro for life lol

-Just check my collection thread in the Collectors area of the site, you can see how crowded my collection already is and I really don't need another line to take up even more space too especially when I'm working to downsize this collection-

No way man, these figures are hard enough to find as it is. Especially if you're only buying in person and not online, like I am.

yeh, I think wise advice to anyone joining at this stage in the game is hope your not a completist because good luck with all the repaints, exclusives, variants, multipacks, and hell different names on bases for that matter. and if your moc, you'll pay through the teeth, good luck haha. but honestly nobody here is stopping anybody from collecting the line, some figures are amazingly badass and if you can budget it and contain yourself not to super induldge then pick some up. or if you want to hunt for rare figures and keep them moc go for it.

If you really want to indulge and build a decent collection without spending every penny you have, don't buy on eBay. Reserve your purchases until you can find something in person, or get your stuff from some of the guys on this forum.
Buy Sell Trade

Or if you can, just get more aunts to buy them for you.

Is there a Professor Xavier Figure? I think there's a Magneto figure basically right now looking for a few X-Men characters.....

I MUST RESIST!!!Already feeling the pull to complete That Special Ops team Wolverine was a part of since I already got Maverick.... At least these 2 My Aunt bought em for me, and there were only two characters I was interested in the whole section....

But if anything my Collection probably wouldn't be fully complete without at least a few Marvel Universe figures in it.

My Financial Situation changes every month depending on how great my ebay sales are and when I get ready to make the push to cleaning out my Anime figures[That's easily about $50-$100 per figure there so shouldn't have too much a problem finding cash for Marvel Universe I mean right now I'm in the Green with my Finances just will have to keep a firm hold on it.]

Reason for my sudden interest in this line is that I always see the figures popping up on this site with new figures and I always glance over at that part of the Toy Aisles so with the dull Transformer lines and the same old Star Wars toys need too look at something different here and there.
It really all depends if youre looking to just pick up your faves or if youre a completionist. You'll pick up a figure here or there at retail, next thing you know youre dropping $25-30 apiece on rarer figures and then if you start going into crossover lines? Youre looking to clear a couple grand easy.

I speak from experience. Run.

It's important to say that this is the cat version of Beast from Astonishing X-Men that I personally hate and don't know why they chose to put this version of Beast out when most people have actually been begging for the 90s speedo Beast... I mean I barely even recognize this one...

As another X-Men collector, I'm happy (or unhappy?) with any Beast they put out, so long as it's not another Cap or Iron Man.

Thanks man. Without a forum of enthusiasts we'd all be at the mercy of the companies marketing these products that we love so much, and they obviously have enough money already. We should be taking care of each other whenever possible, and that is what will allow us to collect what we enjoy without getting screwed over by scalpers and highwaymen.

I have a suggestion and I hope the mods would agree with this:

I would like this thread to remain a sticky in this area of the forum for those who would like to jump into the Marvel Line but if they're unsure of how to do it basically for the more experienced marvel collectors here to pretty much say "IT'S A TRAP!!!!!!!!" to those who think it'll be fun before the craving for more and more sets in.

It's really the only way to collect these things, as a group. I was in El Paso for a day or two, hit up their TRU's, and was shocked to find how many figures and masterworks they had. It was one of my first forays into collecting the line, so I assumed every store was that way. I was in for a big surprise back in Albuquerque, sadly.

So long as you can pick and choose then you'll be fine.
If you can grab Moudular Iron Man, the Modern Thor, a Bucky from the cap line and a Steve Rodgers figure then that's the modern Avengers. They look great together.

But then you've got to have spiderman, Wolverine and Thing in there as well.

And Red Hulk, don't forget him.

Oh, Ms Marvel in her modern costume and Jessica Drew Spiderwoman.

And a Hawkeye.

Oh, and Iron Fist and Luke Cage.

But then you're done.

Unless you want x-men figures as well. There's a few of those (Madrox, Kitty, Colussus, Iceman, Many Wolverine's, 4 or 5 Cyclops, the comic pack Phoenix, Nightcrawler, Warpath...and a few more.)

After you've got all those you're done though...until the next wave with other x-men turns up.
But then you're definitely finished.
Oh, a Sentinel you say?
More waves? More Comic packs? More superhero sets?

Seriously though, you're doomed! It doesn't have to cost a lot...but it will!
Enjoy!
