Okay, so after reading about the figures missing in a couple big collections, I figured I'd go to this little toy/comics shop here in town which is typically VERY expensive (scalpers), and check out what they had and how much it was.

I'll start with what I bought:

As you can see there, I got the light Daredevil, both versions of Johnny storm (light and dark outfits), the arm-up Wolverine #002, and the red n blue Warpath.
The absolute best thing about these guys is that I got three for $15 each, and the Johnny's for $12 each! I'm so happy I jumped on them after looking at eBay's completed listings, even though the total cost was close to $80.

Here's what I didn't buy (it'll be a bit obvious why):

Ghost Rider: $19.99
Iron Fist w/Black dragon: $19.99
Hobgoblin (pumpkin on top): $14.99
Guardian: $14.99
Black Costume Spidey: $19.99
Unmasked Iron Patriot: $29.99
Red Hulk (matte, I think): $29.99
IM2 Titanium Man: $19.99
IM2 Hulk Buster Iron Man: $24.99
Magneto: $19.99
Iceman: $19.99
Metal Absorbing Man: $19.99

What do you guys think? Did I miss anything devastating? I don't have any of those currently, but really couldn't tell which was worth the cost, especially when I already bought 5.

Well Guardian is coming out in a revision wave soon(at least according to bbts) But him for $15 isn't to bad. BTW I'll take the ones you have in your pic

Haha, I thought of you when I went through all those. You mentioned missing some of the variants I saw.

I don't think anyone wants to pay those fatter prices though, unless things get desperate.

I asked them to knock some of the price off the Iceman and Magneto if I bought them too, but they'd only take off $5 a figure, making them $15 each. The wave really hasn't hit our stores yet, and by the looks of Wave 15, we'll get a ridiculous amount of them soon enough.

I only really wanted him because he's an X-Man, and that's what my collection is primarily made up of.

(Though I've started really collecting the rest now too).

Damn, see? I didn't know, of course. I feel like I did better than eBay on the rest though. I'd much rather have the X-Force Warpath too.

I wonder if they'll accept a return...

Yeah I am a huge X-men fan boy. I get any and all I can but warpath is a favorite of mine. Ever since his confrontation with Stryfe I have been sold.

Does that include shipping? Cause it's almost not worth it to him if you're going to tack on some shipping.

I'm just going to go ahead and say that those prices are pretty damn bad. I mean I live in Canada, and figures cost $10. And with taxes, they're a little over $11. Most people think that's outrageous, but since I've only ever had those prices, they're good to me. And when the comic shop up in the city gets these figures, they're $15. That's not horribly bad compared to what I usually pay. And they're usually $15 no matter what. I mean if they had a Blade (WHICH THEY DON'T, so don't get any ideas people lol) it would also be about $15. In conclusion... yes, those figures you past on were expensive. Very expensive.

Yea, I was pretty sure they were, but just wanted to get the opinions of the professionals!

I mean I would be all over that Norman Osborn if it wasn't for that outrageous price. I would even consider $20! But $30 is just a kick in the nuts. Gotta hate the scalpers that run the LCS's.

I think the worst part is that they don't ever re-check to see what the value of these figures are. If they did, I wouldn't have gotten any of the ones I did for less than half of what they're going for on evilBay. They straight up just pick prices for these based solely on their feelings about the character. It makes no sense at all!

Personal feelings? Really? lol In that case they should give me Hulkbuster for $3 because I don't care a whole lot for that particular set of armor...

The heavier the figure, the more expensive in that store.

I tried trading in my SDCC Sentinel and a Select Juggernaut. They said they'd give me $35 in store credit for the Sentinel, and $25 for Juggernaut!?! It made no sense, but turning in the Juggie that I paid $22 for got me my Havok variant...

WTF? Based on weight? That is ...weird to say the least. It is kinda cool how much they give on Select Juggernaut seeing he normally sales for around 20$ here lol.

If it's a MU ghostrider, seems really steep. The target near me has a bunch of those.

All high prices and that's what to expect at comic/toy shops. I don't know how many times I've said to check the forums for members selling their items for cheap. Most of these earlier waves are very easy to find minus a few figures which were none that you mentioned. Is a thread like this really necessary?

Well, since there's no price guide for these things, all we have to rely on is each other and inflated completed eBay listings.

I also put these up just in case other people needed them and didn't have access to them elsewhere. While I won't personally pay $30 for Rulk, someone on here might think that's exactly the deal they're looking for.

Spread the love!

Don't hate the player, hate the game.

I'd rather have Thunderbird than Warpath.

I went to a small toy shop today. It had some decent stuff. BAF sentinel was 100 though. BAF apocalypse was 89. The dragon guy (fing fang foom?) was 100 as well. Also why is marvel select red hulk 50.
