Hello all. This is my first post here so I don't even know if this is the right section. I don't think it fits in the "toy I.D" section because I don't have a pic. So if this is wrong I apologize.
When I was about 9 or 10 in the early 90s I really wanted this doll that a friend of mine had and had seen in commercials. It was a doll that came in a pouch and you strapped the pouch to yourself to make you look pregnant. Yes it made little girls look pregnant. When I took my mom to the toy store with my birthday money she saw the doll and then declared that I did not have enough money to get it and no she would not chip in. I had to settle for something else. I have since found out that I indeed had the money but she was not about to let me have such a toy. I have since forgotten the doll's name and can find NO INFO about it online. I would really love to have the doll for my collection of weird oddities. A few facts about the doll are. 1. It came in both boy and girl (or twins) but you had to get it home and unzip the pregnant pouch for the big reveal. 2. The pouch had two buttons one for kicking and one for heartbeat. Girls in the commercial would proclaim "I can feel her kicking!" 3. It did not last long! Some of my friends have said that it must be a figment of my imagination but since my mom also clearly remembers the doll and the toy store incident then I know it must be real. Help please? |

I have a feeling you are thinking of the "My Bundle Baby" Dolls by Mattel.

With or without a pic, you're still trying to ID the toy. Of course, now that the hard part is done, you can create a regular "Wanted Items" thread with your updated knowledge.
Good luck. ![]() PS. I remember when those first came out and even back then I was shaking my head in disbelief. Playing house is one thing, but simulating pregnancy with that level of detail was over the top. Couple that with PG Barbie, and I have no idea what Mattel was thinking back then.
