Interesting concept. Not sure how I feel about the headsculpts. Also interesting way to get some good stand-up albums on vinyl.

Hmmmm, depending on the price, they could be good for bystanders in displays and stuff.

These look pretty bad. If they improve and do a Dave Chappelle though I'll gladly buy that!

This is one of the only times I've ever thought "wouldn't a McFarlane-style staction figure make more sense?", because there ain't no way anyone is going to need a Jim Gaffigan with double-jointed knees, okay?

That said, this seems like a line destined to burn out fast. Half the legendary comedians are presumably outside their licensing budget, and the other half are some kinda awful. I don't know what it is about comedians, but they're batting a much higher scumbag average than almost any media profession except maybe musicians, and people could end up walking away from the line if certain people were included just on principle.

No fucking way with those insane prices, crappy sculpts, and lame-ass choices for the first wave. The only one people might care about is maybe Bill Hicks. Hard pass.

However, if they get around to making a decent-looking Mitch Hedberg figure, I may change my mind.

Yeah, it's a dumb concept, especially for those prices and the poor sculpt quality of the figures. It reminds me of the short lived toy line many years ago of some of the iconic Saturday Night Live characters.

I imagine with a line like this, the selection will be very limited due to paying for celebrity likeness rights. So probably no big A-list comedians. Would be cool to have a Johnny Carson or David Letterman though.

It's interesting to see that many here don't seem to know who Lenny Bruce is. If you liked Carlin, Pryor, even Chappelle, or blue humor with social commentary then you know Lenny Bruce was one of the pioneers of that brand of humor. But, whutevs, don't let me stop y'all from lambasting everything from the choice of comedians (there are two legends, without a doubt, in this line up: Rivers and Bruce) to sculpts and articulation. Not my wheelhouse, but interesting and cool imo.

I think most know who Lenny Bruce is. This doesn't really look like him (or Dustin Hoffman for that matter lol). These remind me of those figures I see at Strand book store of random historical people like Helen Keller and Benjamin Franklin. It just has me asking why.
I could see toy photographers getting some use out of them as random civilian types or funny joan rivers on the red carpet type shots but these are kind of pricey to just use as background filler. At least seems that way to me.

Based on the lack of mentions in the comments, I don't believe many here know who he is, especially if the complaint is about not featuring 'legends' in this lineup. The fig looks like Lenny Bruce to me and all of Nacelle's stuff is pretty pricey. Lol you made me laugh about Strand's historical figures, tho', I'll give you that. It's been ages since I've been to the Strand near 14th, but I don't visit the new FP like I used to visit the old one, so I'm rarely around there now...maybe the next time I go to Toy Tokyo...

For what they are, I think they are too articulated and expensive, but that said, I might still grab Lenny and a couple of others depending on who they offer.

As far as Lenny Bruce...perhaps people know of him more than they actually know who he is...? Which would explain the disconnect from people seeing his figure.
Toy tokyo...after a couple of failed attempts, i finally found that place a few months ago. But i have to admit, i wasnt as impressed as I thought I'd be. I think theres a better toy selection between FP & any Midtown comics but I'd have to visit again to say assuredly though.

Maybe, regarding Lenny, but, if you like Carlin, or just about any irreverent topically caustic standup that touches politics/taboo subjects then you should know who he is.

I agree about TT; I liked their store much better when it was off St. Mark's nearly above Paul's Burger. They have two floors now, but, somehow, less interesting stuff.

I would say Bill Hicks is worthy enough to stand alongside Rivers and Bruce. He was very much in the vain of Bruce in his social commentary. I've only seen a little bit of Rivers' material though. Strangely enough, more familiar with Phyllis Diller. Probably a licensing thing, but Carlin would have been a better start for either Bruce or Hicks spot. However, I think because of the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, there would be an increased interest in Lenny Bruce.

But the biggest turn off for me is the price in comparison to the head sculpts. If these were 3.75 5 POA figures for 20 bucks or 45 with an album that would be a better deal.

I hope they make a George Carlin, Norm MacDonald, and Bill Burr. Wouldn't be upset if they did a Ralphie May, too, so that I could work on my Jay C custom.

Bill Burr might be open to it. He already has a Star Wars figure.

True. While I'm not sure I'd trust Nacelle to nail his likeness, it couldn't be worse than what Hasblo put out.

Very true. It was horrifying watching a comparison video between S.H. Figuarts and Hasbro with Star Wars. Granted the Bandai fig was also 3 times more expensive. Too bad its so niche, even NECA can do decent work with something like this. 8" would be fun, especially the older comedians, Carlin, Rivers, Pryor, Lenny Bruce, Red Foxx.
