This thing is fantastic. Also reall cute looking for some reason. I guess you can't make a snowy owl anything not cute. Also kudos for making it able to get on all fours

Yes Kudos to the engineering on this, I wasn’t planning on getting but now I’m in. Really interesting articulation schematic.

This thing is cool as shit. At 9"s tall and beefy with FANTASTIC articulation 45 bucks seems like a bargain. Especially compared to Hasbro's other offerings like the severely lacking Venger "2 pack".

It's really nice isn't it? Especially around the shoulders. Butterfly joint with rotating feather "pauldrons" fills it in a lot.

Looks a little too cute, has well articulated baby toy vibes. No shade to anyone who likes it, but Owlbears were always furious and terrifying in my D&D games.

I'm going to wait to see what I think of the film before I order anything but I really like this line so far, and this is an amazing owlbear.

I am skipping the characters myself, but in for the monsters. These should still look good with the NECA figures. If the NECA LJN line does well, I still see them taking a while before they start doing monsters.

Finally they made a classic DnD monster that isn't a transforming dice! Too bad it's just because a character can apparently transform into one in the movie, meaning they might not be planning to do more monsters beyond this.
Oh well I'll take what I can get.

Well they did make a gelatinous cube. I'm hoping they make a Beholder.Considering that the Beholder has one of those transforming dice things and it's one of the iconic monsters, I have to guess it'll be in the movie and that it will get it's own 6' figure.

I saw a black dragon figure the other day. It was huge. Part of the movie line. Didn’t get to examine it much because I was running late, but it’s a thing.

Yeah. That one. Pretty decent size. Didn’t take time to examine it, but it looked like a detailed toy. I’m sure if the line does well enough to warrant a second wave, Hasbro will probably make the tubby red dragon.

Yeah now that I think about it a bit more I'll certainly get Owlbear Doric and any other monsters they make. On the fence about the gelatinous cube though.

Rakor looks quite nice but seems a bit small in comparison to other 6" figures, in my opinion. Dragons come in different sizes so it's not exactly a problem but I'd have preferred a larger dragon

I wouldn’t be surprised if Haslab does a dragon with a 3ft wingspan and weighs 10lbs if the movie and toy line are successful. No chance of anything like that at retail however. Corporate retailers want to consolidate space as much as possible, and that’s just not going to happen with giant boxes of dragon everywhere. Proof to point… when I was a kid, Princess Peach’s castle would have been a huge toy. Now they shrink it down and include a mini Mario and peach that doesn’t scale with the rest of the line. It was depressing to see, but understandable. Look at Snake Mountain! $600ish!

I bought the gelatinous cube at release. I also found Rakor at my local Wal-Mart (he's a Wal-Mart exclusive) and bought him. I thought he would fill in as an adolescent dragon. Something like an adult or a great wyrm would be way larger.

Switch over to 1/18th scale. Problem solved.

I would love Haslab to make Tiamat. That’s the name of my 4ft long Argentine Tegu. I’d put that on display near her enclosure.
