Not sure if this should go here but seems like best fit.

Anyhow, I want to know which heroes & Heroines you like best and why.

Left to Right ---->

- Invincible: I just love this new age hero that is trying to find his way.
- Great Saiyaman: It's the goofy poses. Honestly I just liked Gohan from DBZ and the fact that he dons this ridiculous get up to hide his true strength.
- Batman (Bruce Wayne): He's insane with all these contingency plans. Well not that insane but just a character I enjoy in any type of media format. Be it reading or watching whatever adventure he's on.
- Cable: Never really cared for Cable till he did his Lone Wolf & Cub thing. After seeing the whole story unfold with him traveling with Hope, I began to like him more. He's just a really cool character in terms of his morals & methods.
- Ultimate Spider-Man (Peter Parker): At first I wasn't too keen on a younger spidey but this series grew on me. Seeing how he grows with each new story arc was probably one of the things I liked best. Too bad he's gone now.
- Robin/Red Robin (Tim Drake): I think I like Drake best because he's the first Robin I ever had a chance to really read about. I read his adventures in Young Justice early on and went back to hunt down back issues just to see how he became the third boy wonder.
- Darkwing Duck: A parody in his own right but a rather well written if not confusing at times character (i.e. his origin). Anyhow, watching the show every day when I was younger this is still one of the heroes I'll always remember along with side kick and friend, Launch Pad McQuack.
- Captain America (Steve Rogers): Never cared for him till recent years. I've always found him to be pretty bland. I don't know what it was but after reading comics with Cap I just found I like him. Not as boring as I thought he was.
- Deadman: Brightest Day gave birth to my love for this character. Never knew nothing about him but have found him to be an interesting person.
- Batman (Terry McGinnis): Sure...I have two Batmen on the list but this one was different. A future Batman being trained by the original, there is nothing better. Plus I really did enjoy the TV series...such wonderful memories they be.

- Emma Frost: I love how the White Queen went from villain turned hero. I think that's one of the best things about Emma, her back story.
- Black Cat: One of my first comic crushes. I just love her design plus any time she's teamed up with Spidey. Though I do hate how Kevin Smith wrote her.
- Power Girl: Besides the obvious assets....I did enjoy her adventures in her own series before the whole new 52. They were just fun showing off another side to the character.
- Black Canary: Though not a true blonde, I've always like the fact that she's pretty human (besides her Canary cry or whatever it's called). Though without Dinah around, I don't think I would have ever grown to like Ollie even just a little.
- Ms. Marvel: Another blonde...well liked for all the hardships she had to endure throughout her comic life.
- Zatanna: Design is definitely one thing I like about this character. Though she did have one costume I didn't care much for which was too super hero looking. I'm glad she appeared in Young Justice as well.
- Batgirl (Cassandra Cain): Favorite Batgirl due to her deadly nature. Plus I think I like her even more so because I read No Man's Land.
- Powerpuff Girls: A funny one to list but I find their adventures entertaining. They are most certainly heroines in my book. Always there to save the day from Mojo Jojo.
- Star Sapphire (Carol Ferris): A normal woman turned evil turned Lantern. Who knew such a woman would actually turn out to be somewhat interesting.
- Huntress (Helena Bertinelli): It's a 90s thing I tell ya. No idea why I grew to like Huntress but I did enjoy the stories involving her. Too bad Helena Bertinelli is just an alias now...

This is definately a tricky one to answer!
And considering my tastes change a lot with my moods, and emotions.

I like women who're strong, but feminine. And by that, I don't mean sexual or sexy. I mean when the writers/creators realize and remember that women are not just men with big boobs. Who remember that women fundamentally think differently.
Take Kitara from Avatar: The Last Airbender. She's a brilliant example of what I'm talking about. Self assured, powerful, brave, and strong. But she still has emotions, she still has a caring and nuturing side. She absolutely loves her friends, and does what she can to protect them.
So this tends to guide my choices a bit. I won't go for some sex icon, like a lot of Image's girls.

my heroines:
Kitara
Donna Troy
Black Canary
Raven
Scarlett Witch
Speedy II (Mia Dearden)
Carol Ferris/Star Sapphire
Oracle
and Fatality has been growing on me *a lot.*

For Heroes:
Optimus Primal
Scorponok (Read the late half of the Marvel TF run.)
Green Arrow
Saint Walker
Captain America- If nothing more than the symbolism. What he represents. I love that his only weapon is a shield. The real world needs someone like him.
Robin/Tim Drake
Cyborg
The Doctor

There are a lot more. But at 2am, that's all I can think of.

My real life hero, the one who truely inspires me though, is Steve Irwin. He was a wonderful man, who did so many wonderful things to this world.

In grade school I loved the X-Men, especially Cyclops. In high school I was big on Superman. After college I became a huge Green Lantern fan and started to like Daredevil. Recently I became a fan of Bucky and Captain America.
As for heroines...I loves me some Emma Frost and Power Girl!

Superman, Magneto, Hancock, Captain America, Batman.

Sue Storm, Wonder Woman, Mystique, Anna Faris in super ex girlfriend, Jayna.

This is strictly "heroes". Magneto and Mystique I consider heroes just fighting against forces that wish to punish them for their genetic makeup.
Otherwise Harley Quinn would make the list.

Sorry took a while to get back to this but I wanted a long post and left to think about it then forgot about it. So here is my list

1) Vision during the 1970's Avengers, those were some good books with very well written stories. I like the way he was was written being a mainstay of the team. He was very much as the center, look at the corner logo that was him for the longest time

2) Vision in the sixties. I know he wasn't there for long but I did like the books he was in as Roy was trying to figure out his place on the team. It seemed at first he was a square peg but that ended real quick.

3) Vision from issue 233 to 255

4) Vision Avengers Vol 3

5) Martian Manhunter in House of Secrets, I know they so smell of cheese they are fun.

6) Martian Manhunter in JLI/JLA, great stuff

7 Rest of Martian Manhunter stuff

8) Rest of Vision Stuff

9) Guardian of Alpha Flight

10) Yellowjacket, best Pym

11) Ted Kord/Blue Beetle

Heroines
1) Scarlet Witch, always at the top of my list Wanda

2) Captain Marvel/Monica Rambeua. No matter how they change her name she will always be Mon Capitaine

3) Tigra, working on getting her earlier appearances

4)Ice, sweet girl, loved how she counterbalanced Guy

5) Snow Leopard, my younger daughters Supers PC

6) ok that may not count but MS Marvel/Warbird/Binary

And a partial list. I know I have Vision and Martian Manhunter multiple times but I felt as if it was best to point out at what phase I enjoyed them best. Some people say they love on character but its for one time period and it should be noted.
