Great article! I was so excited when the film came out but I had to wait for the VHS release. I would love it if someone starting producing 3.75" scaled figures again, including movie variants.

It would be good to get more/different figures, always seems to be the same ones - would love sindel in particular, but more of the characters needed

I’d like this line with the mk1-9 line, but a line I’d really like is from the small soldiers movie, that would be legendary

I liked the ultra simple take on the ninja costumes in the movie. Basically seemed even more realistic to me than just over-designed looks from the current game series.

I don’t have Comcast, and I’ve been working on this for a few weeks now.

Oh hey I remember those. Loved the clear blue plastic they used on Subby.

I’m not sure Smash Bros needs one. Many of those characters have figures. Just need to mix and match a few lines to get the line up you want.

NECA would be my first and only choice for this line - it needs attention to detail, screen-accurate likenesses, and fun accessories. Storm Collectibles just makes figures, but can't seem to get them to resemble any specific version of any character - in the face anyway. Their proportions are also questionable. McFarlane doesn't seem to care at all about nostalgia. And Diamond Select is hit or miss, at best. |

The issue with NECA is they just don't have interest in the license. Each time it has come up, they've said they passed on it. When Mezco lost the license, they said they don't see it selling well enough to make it worthwhile. That was prior to MK11, and prior to the Storm figures.

Yeah... The movie was cool for the times... I always wanted a "HighLander" like, MK movie. "There can only be one"!!! Always thought that concept would work for MK movie IMHO

I recently sold a bunch of these Hasbro MK and street fighter figures, trying to capitalize on mk11’s release. Didn’t sell for much. Lol

At least I imagine Mcfarlane will get out a movie skin Shang Tsung. It's tremendously popular . But even if they don't we will probably still get a young Shang figure eventually. Just said there isn't a big market for these. Mcfarlane will probably grab figures for the new movie. Baby Raiden, yay. |

Great article. I'd definitely be interested if they did produce good figures. Alot of this would depend on how well the upcoming reboot movie does. Getting the likeness rights would be hard I imagine, I would love to have a figure representation of Lambert and Tagawa, headswap usage would be great. Also Shou and Sotto would be nice too. Thinking at this rate besides a smaller company doing a great job, Super7 and NECA, maybe even Mattel (their WWE figures are getting better every year). Those I feel are the only ones left that may be interested and can get accurate portrait/face sculpts most other companies, including McFarlane Toys generally miss getting realistic accurate portraits of actual people. MAFEX might do it but they got a ton of things on their plate they havent released. SHF might when the other IPs begin to finish up but I seriously doubt it, considering their Street Fighter line hasnt been a great success.
