Am I in the minority here? (Probably) I just don't want a little Thor that tries to look like Helmsworth...I don't want Loki from the movie..I want the dude in green tights and obnoxious horns. I have no interest in max assault captain america or Xtreme Snowboarding Bucky!! Gimme more from the comics line and keep the rest of this movie pegwarming crap! Haha!

No offence to those of you who enjoy it!

That's how most collector's feel.

Kids and parents usually feel differently.

It tends to work best if they run side by side. Kids want to be able to pick up figures that look like characters from the movie - and comic Thor does not. Nor do the other movie figures. What is strange is that they didn't do a comic series of figures within the movie line like they have with Cap and IM2. This is one of those one hand scratches the other: the movie line enables the comic figures to be produced, and the comic figures boost the sales of the movie line. IM2 is an example of how the comic figures well exceeded the movie figures. I find the same true for Cap. The BIGGEST mistake they are making with all the movie lines is that they are making WAAY too many variations of the title character. Both IM and Cap have had many different outfits and that is great - but don't make "new" variations that like Arctic IM which just a repaint of another armor, or Winter Camo Cap which was ... just horrible, but also a repaint. Also, Hasbro should consider how many of these repaints have already appeared in the MU line. I appreciated the new Bucky Cap in the movie line only because I didn't buy the WM exclusive pack. But, I already had a few IMs from the MU line, whether they were in comic pack or exclusive not to mention the single figures. Cap already had the Ultimate, the Secret Wars, the SDCC exclusive, and the original WW2 mask with original shield. At some point, it would have been good if they had acknowledged this by not producing nearly all of these in the movie line. But at least with Cap and IM2 there were comic figures. Thor - not so much, although the Destroyer works well within the comic line. Hasbro really needs to look more closely at the movie lines and figure out how to get ALL the waves to consumers without going to discount stores or forcing them to pay internet prices.

It works when they run side by side yes, but look at the Thor line, series 1 was all movie figures and it failed miserably. You'd think they'd get the hint.

I wouldnt make a such a broad statement but I understand what you are saying. There are some terrible movie figures out there and almost the entire Thor line to me is trash along with a lot of the Captain America figures. Then again thanks to the movie line you get Destroyer, Warriors Three and Sif (I dont care for them at all and think they are highly overrated but a lot do), Red Agent, Red Skull, Crossbones and other figures that the Marvel Universe line has not produced so I cant hate that much.

I agree completely on the movie figures looking like Hemsworth, etc. That's exactly why I passed on Thor and the Green Lantern stuff (That and they sucked as figures, anyway). I said the same thing last week and got slaughtered, so I imagine, yes, we are the minority here. lol. Where the hell were you guys when I was getting my ass handed to me??

I didn't see your post! I hate movie lines.. if I'd have grown up obsessing over said actor or think Chris Evans has a beautiful smile I could understand it, but I still wish I hadn't have ever picked up the warriors 3, but I knew we'd never get the real ones..

I grew up reading comics/cartoons etc. so it makes sense I want the ones from my childhood. Some kids first true glimpse at these heroes IS the movies though, so these are their captain americas so more power to them.

But I understand it because it's like Ghostbusters.. Bill Murray will always be Dr. Venkman to me, not the skinny head cartoon guy. That's because that was my Peter Venkman. Chris Hemsworth is some people's god of thunder. *shrug*

to each their own I suppose? I mean, Thor and Cap were a bit underwhelming IMO, however I genuinely enjoyed the IM2 line.

MU has just as many bad figures as movie lines do.

Plenty. I guess my point was that I don't see how you can make a blanket statement like that. Going by the original post, MU Bucky Cap (from GB set) is a better figure than Cap line Bucky.

I don't know about that, but I do know that I'm personally not a big fan of the Thor movie figures (looks-wise) except for the Destroyer. Not a fan of Green Lantern's movie figures. Not a fan of the movie-look Sabretooth figures or the stuntman Deadpool (in fact, that makes my skin crawl). The only Cap movie line figure that I genuinely like is the Crossbones figure (although that was a comic series figure), however, I did get some of the other figures because I figured it was the only way we'd get them. (USAgent, Red Guardian), I did really like the IM2 line, but that was because of the number of compatible comic series figures they had. I hated the movie Whiplash figure. The movie Iron Monger looks pretty sweet, though.

Another good point, the Cap Bucky was much better than the GB MU Bucky cap.

I like movie lines for comic figures, or those who look close to their comic counterpart(Destroyer)
Other than that, I think I've purchased 1 movie style character and that was to mod.

Cap was the one with the extreme snowboard.

The Cap "movie" line was pretty awesome IMO.

Plus, comic series additions in the movie lines seem to be pretty bad-ass with sculpts that are often superior to the core MU line's versions of the same character.

I wouldn't mind the movie stuff so much if they didn't release Comic versions of the characters throughout the waves so that I'm forced (in handcuffs?) to sully my Universe collection with Movie packaging.

I think most people feel so much hate for the movie line bc we don't need 9 different thors and 15 different Caps. Iron Man I can understand. But I do mainly buy for the Comic series.

Some of the Cap movie figures were very awesome. But the more recent figures - particularly the Desert Cap and Jungle Cap - were lacking. Why did they wait until wave 3 and 4 to start giving army builders? Couldn't they have had the Hydra deluxe figures in wave 1?

I do like the green and yellow Hydra variants. I wish they were more common.

I thought I was going to be able to only collect movie lines but a lot of comic lines are awesome.
I started with Xmen Origins Wolverine comic lines and of course added selections from MU , Iron Man, Thor and Captain America.
