Hey DC Fans! Feast your eyes on the first image of DC All-Stars Wave 2!

Slated for release in 2012, the wave focuses mostly on the New 52, and consists of:

Superman (New 52)
Flash (New 52)
Red Robin (DC Universe)
Supergirl (DC Universe)

Enjoy the attached image and keep your eyes peeled for these beauties in the coming months of the new year!

I'm suprised by the lack of detailing on the new 52 offerings.

They look to be constructed from pre existing bucks which lack the inlays and tubing on the new 52 designs.

Red Robin looks good though. Clearly this is the Kingdom Come version.

Supergirl is a pass for me.

Red Robin...Awesome. Too bad it is Kingdom Come version. I mean look at those biceps. No way is that Drake underneath the mask. Though one could say Todd...but that's something I don't want to say either since he threw it away during 52 (I think that or whatever the aftermath series of 52).

Superman I might get.
I have no need or desire for ANOTHER Barry Allen Flash... even worse with this one stealing Wally's belt design.
Red Robin is *way* too bulky, as has been pointed out, to serve as Tim Drake (The only version I care about).
And I see no need in owning a black repaint of Supergirl.

With the exception of Red Robin, this is more what I thought we'd be getting from DC Allstars.

man, they didn't even bother to do new sculpts. The "trunks" are clearly visible on Superman.

Shouldn't Supes and Flash be more armor looking too?

Now that I look at it...yeah...you can see them. That's even more disappointing to know.

Yes! Finally a wave I can 100% pass on and have no regrets! I get to save my money! (Not to mention I only want Batman Beyond from wave 1 . . .)

That's absolutely nothing new. Those sculpted details exist on virtually every single male DCUC figure.

There's a good chance that I'll probably get the Superman figure from this wave. I like his new 52 design, and while this isn't a perfect representation of it, it still has the major details that I like about it. I just hope the head-sculpt looks good in-person (most Superman head-sculpts look horrible to me...).

Not sure if I'll get any of the others. I'll want to do some research on Red Robin before making a decision on him (I'm not familiar with him). While I appreciate the new 52 design of the Flash, I think I'll skip him. I've never really been a fan of the Flash in general. Supergirl is most likely a pass too. I have little interest in the character, let alone this particular costume for her.

I can't wait to see what future waves of this re-branding has in-store for us. Hopefully it isn't too long before we get the new 52 designs for Batman, Wonder Woman, and Hal Jordan (the DCUC w20 AS Hal lacking his battery annoys me). Also, some more villains would be great.

Edit: Now that I've read-up a bit on Red Robin...I'm probably more confused than I was beforehand, lol. Part of me hopes they advertise the figure as Dick Grayson's Red Robin, but I would also be fine with Tim Drake's Red Robin (though I agree, it is a bit to built for him). If it's advertised as either Jason Todd or Ulysses Armstrong (I think both are unlikely)...I still might get it, but I would refer to it as either Dick or Tim, tbh. In the end, the figure looks good, so I'll probably get him.

With the new 52 designs certain characters are inevitably going to be made by Mattel. Part of me hopes one of those is Green Arrow. Most especially if they gave him a good looking bow with removable arrows (like the YJ Artemis and Red Arrow figures). Then again, if I get the wave 20 Green Arrow figure, I'm not sure I would still be interested in getting a figure of his new 52 design.

They don't look to have much articulation. Looks like DC Direct figures. I'm most likely wrong about that, but from the pictures at least, it seems that way.

I'd get the "New 52" stuff in hopes they make all of the JL from the "New 52". Guess it is a buy, but do not open until further notice!

I love how they always use the same body molds with bad articulation.

the way i see it, after giving this some thought, these aren't action figures at all. They are statues that coincidentally happen to have some articulation. You cant pose them other than standing in attention.

Uhhhh, well for me I put them in poses and shit, because THEY CAN. I have been fooled by pictures that make it look like there is a "lack of articulation" but have always been surprised once I pick it up. Even though Mattel re-uses the same mold over and over and over [give or take some longer/short legs for height differences] they are still some of the best figures out there.

That's just me :P.

I don't know if I fully understand what you are saying. That almost have everything that Marvel Legends had.

take the legs for example, they can only move up and down with no rotation at the hips. Same problem at the shoulders. If they can change the design at those four points, ill be absolutely giddy. And broke. but right now, with the figures i have now, i all i can do to pose them is pretended they're walking...

Oh ok I see what you mean with these news figures. Why would Mattel do an down grade? This makes no sense... Maybe something will change in the final product?

yeah I agree with you . they should so upgrade the line by now . come on we got some figures with double joins elbow and knee's . I keep on saying ankle pivot. is it so hard to get new parts on old mold.and like everyone says super girl so need a new head sculpt. I guess I got to get a custom done for two now . ooo boy..

But Over all I will being them all . I wired that way.,.
