So it seems like this is basically happening in this forum right now... ;P (just tryin' to lighten the mood)
![]() Also, on topic a bit why exactly is Marvel so intent on keeping the identities of the Alien army a secret? If its been stated that their identity is "not impactful" then why such an effort to keep it hidden? Don't get me wrong, both the Lego and 3.75" figures of the aliens look pretty neat...but on the other hand, with armor obstructing their faces its hard to look at them as anything other than faceless drones (but maybe thats intentional?)

Rumors going round again they are Chitauri. No matter what I kinda like them and can't wait to army build them and their chariot things. I think I actually like the figures better than what we've seen of them in the actual movie. They definitely have an Asgardian/Stargate feel though. IMO

I think the attacking aliens are Chitauri as well. I'm wondering if the film is going to be a quasi live action remake of the animated Ultimate Avengers movie. Maybe Hulk will really lose it and fight his teammates after Loki and his minions have been defeated? After all, Bruce Banner said we're not a team, we're a time-bomb in the last trailer and I don't think he was referring to his teammates when he said that.
Regardless, I'm looking forward to the film and I just might go see it in the theater instead of waiting for it to arrive on Blu-Ray like I usually do with theatrical movies. I hope that they have a good story in store for us and that it doesn't turn out to be a disappointment. And, I hope the toy-line gets some better offerings as well. The Quinjet really seems to be illustrative to me that Hasbro can turn things around in this movie toy-line, especially after seeing some of the animosity toward the current figures from other collectors.

New way to settle disputes on Toyark: battle pics! Pose up your figure and let people decide which one was more badass. I'm ok with the chitauri now since they're pretty much just fodder for Hulk ![]()

Hopefully, everyone has calmed down now and the conversation can get back on topic.
Having said that, I do find it very odd that even now Marvel is trying to keep the army's identity a secret. Especially when they should know as well as anyone that whoever wants to know can easily find out in a couple of minutes without ever seeing the film.

I think the actual identity itself may give away some plot points, which is why they're trying to keep it under wraps so tightly. If it were just a matter of a name, I think it would have been released long ago. Their tight-lipped-ness makes me more convinced that the figures won't be released (Wave 3 & 4) until after the movie is out. I was hoping we'd start to see them on May 1st, but I'm thinking mid-to-end of May is much more likely. |
