What would you change with the Hasbro Marvel Legends line? While many of us collect the line, there's a lot that could've been done differently. There's some decisions I honestly question. And I'm not alone!
So if you had your way, how would you change the line? Let's flip the script on Hasbro Marvel Legends! Here's what I would've done: -Made AOU Hulkbuster a $40 deluxe figure, NOT A BAF! The marketing team must be like "oh yeah guys home run the whole wave will be bought it'll sell!". Sure but you know what I (for)see? A bunch of pissed off collectors that can't complete the Hulkbuster BAF because they can't find certain figures! Hell I might be one of them! If Star Wars Black Series 6" can get deluxe boxed figures like Jabba The Hutt and Han/TaunTaun, us Marvel Legends collectors should get deluxe figures too! Why would you make the arguably most in-demand figure from a top summer movie, a BAF? COME ON (has)BRO! -Made Ultron a single figure in an AOU wave, NOT a BAF figure! Main villain... A BAF?! What sorcery is this? -Made Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver in a 2 pack deluxe set OR 3 pack with Baron Von Strucker -Made Hawkeye, Black Widow and Thor from the amazon 4 pack as individually released figures. -Had Banner from the Amazon 4 pack and Hulk with ripped pants as a deluxe $40 2 pack -Had the Amazon 4 pack as Ultron's different forms from the movie + an Iron Legion figure or 2 -Had movie Vision in the recent AOU wave List what you would/would've done differently with Hasbro's Marvel Legends line! Flip the script!

I would include flight stands for every flying character. I don't collect imports so it is hard to find high quality flight stands.Attachment 32066

In addition to Shin's note about making Ultron a single carded figure and not the BAF, I would've also preferred that they actually made Giant-Man "giant" and featured him as the BAF (on an all new body, not the old Icons Cyclops piece). They then could've made the second SDCC exclusive something way more relevant than a random comic based Ant-Man set that had almost zero hype factor.
Aside from that, only thing that could've been improved was more dedicated movie sculpts... SW, Quicksilver, movie Vision, and Falcon sorely needed some representation, and there was easily at least 4-5 figures in the past few waves that I'm sure collectors would've been okay not receiving in place of these movie characters (Batroc, Machine Man, Hellcat, and not-so-Giant-Man, I'm looking at you guys... =). |

Shin Densetsu you hit it spot on about the Hulkbuster. I only wanted Strange and Blizzard out of that, but that HB was nothing short of sweet. I will admit grumbling as I forked over money for the entire wave, not at the retailer but at Hasbro for being so devious.
Also Barefootabe I completely agree, I feel like I'm getting a cross between Legands and Mego figures right now. They just feel too rubbery. As far as flipping the script, but remember there was a protoype Songbird shown at a convention a few years ago? Where has she gotten off too? The fact we got Satana in the Thunderbolts set (though I love that figure) was kind of baffling. If I had to pick one character that the Thunderbolts revolved around for much of it's run, it was Songbird more than any other. And yet, MIA. |

Much like Punisher said, I would release every figure they have shown. I still want that Rogue and the Dani and Blade and so on. I would go back to doing 2 pack every once in a while. I have always said it would have been cool to get 2 packs of the original Thunderbolts paired with their original Master of Evil costumes.
Another thing I would do is make a wave of throwbacks. Original costumes or a certain era of costumes. I would love a matching 90's X-Factor of X-Force set. It was said above, but I would be much happier paying what we do for these figures if the plastic was up to par. These gummy feels joints are getting to be too much. Finally, I want waves with full on teams, or even more team packs I guess. I would love an new Fantastic Four set. I will say that I enjoy how Hasbro is slowly redoing some of the figures we had in the Toy Biz line that may have been lacking (Wasp and Scarlet Witch to name a few). I would continue to release characters to replace or update some of the Toy Biz ones. Pretty much any female would work for me, Toy Biz never seemed to get them right. |

Thats whats Hasbro has been doing. They redo the weakest ToyBiz figures to make an illusion that they are better, but I will admit they make the best women in the 6inch market. |

here we go.
HULK figure How i would've have done it. I would make him like Iron Fist 1 hulk figure with 4 pairs of swap-able hands pair 1 closed fists pair 2 open hands like he got with Avengers 1st movie pair 3 "Clap" hands so you can do that famous hulk clap like in the incredible hulk movie pair 4 Holding hands that can hold other figures i.e loki's leg , or any other figures [this might happen in inifinty war pt 1 or 2 for figure wave though] with a swap-able 3 heads Screaming, angry, Calm |

I would make a series of T.V. show DareDevil figures, for those of you that haven't seen it, get netflix!!!! The show is amazing. It would have DareDevil with a suited Matt Murdok running change, show Kingpin, comic Kingpin, Bullseye, Elektra, and a Punisher without the bad Nick Fury mold, and a build-a-figure StiltMan with diffrent size stilts and bendy wire in them, like Machine Man.

Sadly as much as I would love them to make 40$ deluxe ML in the way SW Black has done them like the Jabba and such. I think with how poor the Deluxe Black figures sold that Hasbro is even ending them. Jabba and the Speeder Bike SAT on Shelves FOREVER!! People hardly ever picked them up at retail cost. Everyone (myself included) waited until they were on sale or like now they are all on clearance for 20$ or less now. If Hasbro wanted to make deluxe SW or ML figures work they would have to get closer to the 30$ mark as a base cost in stores.
The sad part is the Speeder and Jabba felt like they were not worth the price, but the Han and Tauntaun and Luke and Wampa sets are completely worth the 40$ |

I generally dislike the build-a-figure concept. It's a good value for completist collectors, but no one else. I would prefer buying deluxe sets for larger figures or figures with large accessories, like Ghost Rider with his Hellcycle. I hate store exclusive waves because they always seem hard to find, so I would do away with them. I think that Hasbro should include a Greatest Hits or All-Star figure with each wave. They could reissue popular, older figures with each wave to cater to kids and newer collectors who were late to the party. The All-Star figures wouldn't include Build-a-figure parts so long- time collectors wouldn't feel pressure to buy doubles of figures they already own. Toy companies always site new tooling costs as a big challenge, so this would be relatively inexpensive for Hasbro. I think Hasbro has access to all the old Toy Biz molds too, so they could just reissue figures like the Hank Pym Ant-Man, Face-Off Hulk and Face-Off Cap to capitalize on the character's' current popularity. Collectors complain about getting so many versions of Iron Man and Wolverine and so on, but those figures are usually recognizable to kids and they don't really clog the pegs like Machine Man, Hellcat and Anti-Venom are. I'd also like to see Hasbro include figure stands and flight stands with figures.

I can't really complain too much, i love the characters they've been making for some of the lines, however i do agree with everyone else.
Instead of a BAF figure and you must buy the whole wave, i would also prefer a larger figure to just be available on its own. I truthfully didn't want the whole hulkbuster wave but ended up getting it because i wanted the hulkbuster. Furthermore the store exclusives i can see are hard to find for some people. If they still decide to work with walgreens, i think some rules should set with all stores.... such as requiring ALL of their stores to actually carry a ample supply of them rather then have us buyers run around searching for them like mad men. |

i think with BAF figures they gone backwards i.e Absorbing man was hoping he would be a stand alone figure like hulk for example , unless Hasbro is thinking that some characters might not sell well as standalone figures though i doubt they know how many X character figures sell alone rather than box sets

I think if your gonna make a Ghost Rider figure, either make him more expensive, or make the Hell Cycle an add on that you buy separately.

i would be happy either way
For some reason, Hasbro doesn't seem to care if their customers are happy or not. |

A new Deadpool wouldn't be on top of my list, but I would take him. Maybe he'll get a new figure with the movie coming out, but we've all heard the argument about Marvel and characters that aren't in their movies. Although, Deadpool is in the upcoming Uncanny Avengers book.
I really can't think of anyone at the moment except maybe more Thor characters. We don't need another Thor, but we could use a lot more of his supporting cast. Warriors Three, Lady Sif, Encahntress, Sutur (who could be a BAF). |

Hasbro has been getting better at this, but it still happens occasionally: if they're going to use older molds for their figures, I really wish they would give us some updated articulation to go with these figures.
This year, we had Marvel Now Thor and Iron-Man, as well as movie War Machine, all of which are lacking the ankle rocker that other legends have. To me, it's one of the most important points of articulation a figure can have because it allows the feet to sit flat on the ground, allowing the figure to be more stable in a wide-legged pose. On top of that, I'm in agreement with everyone else saying that they should release the figures they've shown at Toy Fairs. We're getting a Morbius in the next Spider-Man wave, can we please have that Blade that you've shown years ago to go with it? Finally, and this is a pretty miniscule thing since it only applies to a few characters: articulated tentacles, please. Superior Spider-Man's tentacles should be awesome, but since they're stuck in their static poses, they just get in the way whenever I try to pose the figure. It's not like it would've added on to the cost of the figure for them to just make the holes in his back circular holes so the tentacles could swivel inside of them. |

Honestly, I'd change everything about them, including who has the license. Hasbro is doing a great job making low-end collectibles that aren't worth the $20 price tag, and that's about it. Looking at what masterpieces companies like NECA offer for $20, you wonder why Legends in their current state cost so much?
Firstly, If you're going to reuse the same mold over and over, invest in some that have natural looking articulation. The cuts on Hasbro's Legends are WAY too blocky/straight edge, they look absolutely awful! It'd also be great if they'd stop using that gummy/easily warp-able plastic. Secondly, I'd get some better sculptors/painters. The sculpts on these guys are just so generic, and it's like they only have one or two human heads that they're reusing. Marvel's comic/movie characters have distinctive looks too them, and that IS NOT captured in these figures. Also, it'd be great if they decided to actually start painting their figures, a single dot eye on a six-inch scale figure is UNACCEPTABLE! Lastly I'd get rid of the BAF component and just release the bigger figures separately. A "collector" figure should have a nice array of character specific accessories, not a piece of another figure that you either don't want or vice versa. It was a great idea in the ToyBiz days when each figure in the line was unique, but since these days most Marvel Legends waves are 60% Bucky Cap/Hyperion, NO THANKS! |

And yes, I absolutely agree that the facial sculpts are pretty generic. All of the characters have this generic stoic look, which I guess works for fitting them into different scenarios, but I want more figures to have a little more personality shine through. I love Pizza Spidey's absolutely cheesy (no pun intended) smile on his partially-masked face, or Rhino raging so hard that his eyes are just popping out of his skull. I'd like to see more of that, but that could just be me. Perhaps they can experiment with having alternate head sculpts that convey a different set of emotions. One stoic face and another face that better shows off each character's unique personality traits. For certain characters like Vision, they can just stick with a singular stoic expression, but I'd definitely want a Giant-Man with a face that gives off the impression of a great scientific mind under that suit. Hell, it's still kinda weird that Black Cat kinda has this blank expression since I'm used to her either smiling or looking seductive. Still a good figure IMO, but whenever I pose her it just doesn't look like she's having fun lol. |
