Kicking off with some pre-panel SW music. Good way to spend the next 25 minutes.

Abrams just walked on stage and the music swelled and I got that little hiccup in my throat. Dammit.

I teared up like a little girl 3 times in a row watching that trailer.

JJ seems to be doing it right thus far. I have been excited for this since they showed that cast photo and I'm even more so now.

Very annoying rap.

Interesting crowd demographic. Children are few.

Great news re: real production sets.

Anthony Daniels is a delight!

Wish they stuck more closely to the iconic trooper design. The new look gives an impression of being unfinished somehow.

One thing about modern cell phone culture that I will never 'get' is the need for everybody at a gathering to film exactly the same thing, especially knowing that a production quality video will be released anyway: the troopers come onstage, and everybody and their dog whips out a phone... Put them down and enjoy yourselves!

Thanks for the link! That was fun. I'm pumped.

I remember I tear up the first time I saw Darth Maul pop out the other half of his lightsaber too...look how that turned out!

That said, I do have higher hope for Episode VII.

I think that has less to do with quality, but more to do with proof that "I was there!". Next week, when all those guys are back to their parents' basement in their own little town, they'll be ready to whip out their cell phone and show whoever that would peek over that "look! I was at Celebration! Look, I still got the video right here on my cell phone!"

That said, it's not an insult to the guys there, because I wanted to be there too!

Looks great the funny thing is Harrison Ford looks younger in this than he does in normal pictures from now.

Maybe they did some digital work on his face.

It's nothing new at all in the good ole' days you are thinking about as soon as there was any type of handheld media storage device people were filming or recording bootleg tapes, home videos of things that would later be on the news, they used to tape live concerts in the when they knew they would come out on an album.

It all started with the Phonograph, people regularly recorded live performances knowing there would be "professionally" recorded cylinders put out.
