I'm guessing this is something you have to collect on card, because off the card I'd have no idea who some of the figures were meant to represent.
While I like the film and TV franchises represented by the line I was a kid when the Kenner Star Wars stuff came out and after one or two figures I went GI Joe and never looked back to the bitter disappoint of how lame the Kenner inaction figures seemed compared to all the cool Joe stuff. Now if going retro had been a style like the GI Joe O-ring figures, oh there would be a long list of want figures. But yea I just don't want a toy line that reminds me of something I didn't like as a child. Although I'm going to have to disagree with the people saying you've got so many 3 3/4" to 4" choices as some of these properties don't have figures in that scale. |

Is there anyone in their 30s who thinks these look like crap? Because I'm wondering if all you nitpickers are just younger and come from a different generation who doesn't understand and appreciate the appeal of these toys like those of us who were children of the 1980s and grew up with vintage Star Wars toys and other similar lines. The simplicity of the sculpts and articulation is the whole point of these toys! It's capturing the nostalgic memories of our childhood by offering toy lines for movies that SHOULD have had toys in the 80s, and producing them in that retro style. It's easily the coolest toy collection I've seen come out in the last few years. I can't wait to see their Goonies and Back to the Future lines and maybe other surprises unveiled at Toy Fair this month.
Just because I grew up with those figures doesn't mean I was ever happy with them. I took them & played with them because that's all there was. I didn't have a choice. I also thought the Mattel Battlestar Galactica toys were complete crap too. And the Tron & M.A.S.K. figures sucked too! And I always hated how all the male MOTU figures were squatting like they were always taking a dump. Just because I was a little kid doesn't mean I didn't have any taste. I think everyone needs a GIMP figure!!! Imagine the photo opportunities with him in a 3.75" collection.

I really dig the look of the whole line. Detail and articulation isn't everything to every collector. These look fun. I will be buying several, ripping open the package and playing with these.

I hate these figures and I'm in my 30's. They don't seem 'stylized' they just look LAZY. Heck, Kenner actually had better sculpting and painting than these. I actually bought some terminators and preds a few years ago and I prefer them over these.
I know they want to make a point but they just simply look like knock-offs with better packaging. Hiya Toys you better come to the rescue. |

I hate these figs, but damnit I just saw one that I'm going to have to buy. I'm shocked they are making Sam from Trick or Treat as I didn't realize he was iconic/mainstream enough. Loved that movie.

Sweet, nice to see the rest of these. I'm glad Funko has the balls to make this line. Between these and the Legacy figures I think Funko is going to be my favorite toymaker of 2014.

![]() ![]() Some of the photos for these figures have been getting updated at Entertainment Earth due to revised head sculpts . The top photo was first, the bottom is new. I noticed a few other differences like with the Back to the Future characters. Last edited by JustryGT; 04-06-2014 at 04:22 PM.. |
