The non-fat-head Punisher and Thing are also part of Wave 3. You didn't see either Ms. Marvel figures (classic or modern), but there are a couple more: Iron Man (classic costume -- not the modern or blue ones) and Hand Ninja. Did you see those? |

Hasbro apparently made the fathead Punny as pretty much the very first fig in the entire line, hence its fatheadedness and the low POA. They admitted that they couldn't get out of producing him since they'd contracted with the retailers to produce X amount of figures by Y date and he had to be part of that. But, they bumped up the second version to get one they were proud to offer to collectors asap. The only one that would be worth more down the line would be the fathead one due to people avoiding him now. Frankly, it's not a reason to get him, imho.

Hey, I just saw the new punisher movie - is the new punisher figure supposed to look like this guy from the movie? He has similar traits like his receding hairline and facial features...

I just got this figure recently, having bought it, I'm can chill for a bit with looking for these figures, as this was one of my highly anticipated purchases.
The figure itself has intricate detail within the sculpt, which is impressive. The hip articulation is hindered a bit by the belt, which is made out of a plastic that while malleable, is quite stiff. It's not extremely detrimental to the articulation but it's definitely apparent when handling the figure. Due to this, moving the legs is tricky, it feels weird in a way. I'm not a fan of the ankle swivel breaking the sculpt. The ankles, however, are on hinges instead of ball joints, so there is more range of motion. In this case the trade off is alright since it helps Cap with crouching poses. The bicep swivels feel a bit flimsy, due to the slimness of the arms. It's best to move the shoulder joints at the shoulder, rather than pulling at the arms to do so. It might not break if you don't do this, but it's best to be safe. This figure has waist articulation in addition to ab articulation, which is great. The shield does not stay on either forearm very securely, unfortunately. Other than that I do like the figure, I was a bit disappointed. The upcoming Secret Wars version will utilize the same body, with a new head, gloves and boots. Don't know if the belt will remain, but if it doesn't, it will have better range of motion at the hips. Last edited by Shin Densetsu; 03-21-2009 at 11:13 PM.. |

If I recall correctly, there is no belt on the Secret Wars Cap.

I like my Cap fig, but unfortunately his left arm is as limp as a wet noodle.
