I never really noticed this before, but when you look a that Emma Frost headsculpt horizontally it kinda looks like John Tesh with a wig.

Well today was definitely an adventure. Short version for those who don't want to read:
![]() Long version for those that like to read stories, have nothing better to do, or whatever: I ended up traveling to five different Targets this morning. Target #1 - "Someone came in right when we opened the doors and bought them all." Target #2 - We got there about 10 minutes before they opened and there were already 4 guys standing around waiting for the store to open. They were talking about the quest to get DC figures so I asked them if they were all there to get Vipers and they said yes. I inquired how many since if they were going to buy them all there was no point in my waiting there, but everyone said they're happy with one each. An employee came out asking what we were waiting for, thinking we were after some new Lego set or something, and then said on the Walkie, "Nope, they're here for GI Joe." The dude on the other end said they only have 6 one of figure, and she said, "Okay, well there's a group, so expect to be rushed for them." When she opened the doors we all casually walked to the toy isle while chatting with one another and each one of us took one Viper and only one. Target #3 - They had only one Viper left and they were holding them in the back as they were only selling one to each customer. He said that Firefly just came in on the truck, but they wouldn't be able to have it unloaded and on the shelves until the end of the weekend. Target #4 - They sold them all an hour earlier. Target #5 - They only had one Firefly left. The employee said their inventory shows they have 6 Vipers instock, but they can not find them at all. Now the bad news. Naturally, my luck gives me a defective Viper. The first one I opened is super loose at the hip joints, which I haven't had shaky legs like that on a figure since my Shinken Red Figuarts that snapped at the drop down hipjoint. Secondly, the goggles band snapped in half the moment I tried to put it on his helmet. Additionally, both Vipers have their left hand peg joints flattened instead of round, so they can't twist in the arm. I have to remove the hand and then turn it to change its positioning. Firefly, on the other hand, seems perfectly fine. His legs are a tad loose like they are on my Snake-Eyes, but other than that, I've got no issues from what I can see. Paint apps on him seem to be spectacular, though I haven't really studied him too much yet. I was kind of distracted with the Viper. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Glad to see someone able to get them at retail. But the fact that you had to wait until a street date, wait around at or before opening, and travel to FIVE Targets in the hopes of getting these is beyond absurd.

Not a single Target in southern Arizona received one. Not one single figure.
What a shit show. I'm keeping my existing preorders but after that, I'm pretty much done with the line. That said...if anyone can find an extra Firefly, which is the only figure I wanted and my fave G.I.Joe character, I'd gladly make it worth your time. |

I’ve got better things to do on New Years Eve than stalk Target’s website and wake up early for some poor QC figures. I went this afternoon hoping Popfinder was wrong about my area, but there was nothing on the shelf. I’ll just keep checking daily until they hopefully arrive. |

It makes me laugh at those people who get mad about breaking street dates. That’s not even 1/10th of the issue. Hasbro needs to make more product available from the get-go. I think about how the Rogue rerelease went last month. Anyone who really wanted one was able to fine one within the first week of release.

Sounds nice. Look out for Target trying to cancel those in the future. They pulled that on some of my Legends preorders last year.

Popfindr shows zeros across the board, so I can just chill I guess.
A few months ago I was at a local toy show and I saw someone pay 100 bucks for a single MIB Classified Cobra Trooper... that just blew my mind paying that much for a current retail single figure... that scalper guy is gonna be hunting for Vipers for sure now if he can charge 5 times as much for one figure and there are people out there willing to buy them. |

Exactly why I went out hunting for these. Target has done that to me MANY times, you CAN'T trust Target pre-orders. Walmart's almost as bad. |

That's why I was constantly refreshing popfindr. I've got multiple Targets all around me so I was going to most of the not-so popular locations. The first one we only went to because we live right down the street from it.

I think I've mentioned it before, but when I know something on the shelf is gonna be street dated, I just grab another figure that will ring up for the same price, snap a pic of the barcode, go to self checkout, scan it and drop the item in the bag. They get their money, I get my toy. No fuss, no muss!

The last time I got a street date the lady at self check out rang the times under a miscellaneous item code. |

It could also mess up replenishment if their system orders based on On-Hand counts. I’ve never worked at Target, but I assume it’s all automated based on how blown out their toy section always is.
