I think the thing about crowdfunding is it's also just more fun. You get the excitement of seeing it funded, then the excitement of seeing what kind of extras can get unlocked as the orders keep rolling in.

Also it's sitting currently at 10,012, so enjoy those missile launchers.

It would be nice but simply just not feasible. They can't set up a production for a small quantity of figures and maintain that in the off chance someone puts out an order.

Of course there are some products that could probably sell well year to year but eventually it's going to have diminishing returns. Space is limited and mold don't last forever.

Really it's been a distribution problem. Take NECA TMNT movie line. It's a Walmart exclusive that most people could not buy in stores/online.
GI Joe has that the Target Exclusive problem during a Pandemic.

Troops builders, yes, but large items like the Hiss wouldn't work because of cost reasons.

I'm certainly not going to gush over it, but I thought it was perfectly fine and actually somewhat expected. Underwhelming to be sure, but not a deal breaker. I actually felt the same about the missile pods, TBH. I backed before the tactician was unlocked though, so from here on out, it's all free for me.

However... yeah. I really hope there's at least one more figure unlock. A proper Cobra Commander (however unlikely) would be amazing.

But isn't the tank the reason you should be backing it? Not just in case it has a figure you want? The figure should be a bonus feature like on a Blu-Ray. You buy the movie for the movie, anything extra is just that, extra.

I think you are setting yourself up for disappointment if you buy an orange and are surprised you didn't get a steak


But we'll see with Tier 3. I'm expecting parts to support the H.I.S.S. Not just some exclusive figures. We already got two. There are going to be very limited options from Hasbro to get follow up attachments barring smaller individual figures.


What I really want to see is the electronics in action. All those lights don't matter if in a poorly lit display, it's barely illuminating.

My fear was that they would release a major character with the tank, as incentive to buy it. I'm not too concerned with HISS-centric characters. If I don't get the tank, I don't need the driver, anyway.

As for the H.I.S.S., Lenny mentioned the cannons will have blast effect ports. Not sure why he'd make a point to call that out unless blast effects are another unlock.

He said in the stream that they aren't sure what the blast effects were going to look like yet because they needed to test how much weight the canons can support first.
