MTV recently sat down with director Jon Chu to discuss G.I.Joe 3. According to the article, Mr. Chu promises that fans can expect lots of fun surprises in the next installment of the franchise.
The article continues with Mr. Chu stating that he's taking it to another level with this one. G.I.Joe 3 will feature a mix of old favorites and exciting newcomers, Mr. Chu went o to say. Here's a brief taste of the article where Mr. Chu discusses characters that were believed to be dead and later came back - "You never know," Chu teased. "Storm Shadow died in the first one and came back in the second one, and then other characters have died and never come back. The G.I. Joe world, the best thing about it is you never know who's coming back and who's not." Let's not rule out the possibility of a time jump, either. What's your take? Would you like to see Duke return for G.I.Joe 3? Would you prefer that any part he play be a flashback or would you rather move away from Duke all together? Sound off on the Hisstank.com Forums!... Newsarama recently spoke with writer Paul Allor, about his upcoming run on GI Joe. Allor picks up where Steve Kurth left off, with a new run starting in January 2014 with GI Joe #12. The story kicks off with a history of Cobra Commanders. For readers who haven't read the IDW books, IDW's take on Cobra Commander is that there have been several through the years. Cobra Commanders from severeal years into the past will be revealed. We haven't really seen that many before, but that changes with GI Joe #12. Here's what Allor has to say on that:
"These are stories I've wanted to tell ever since IDW killed off the last commander, and revealed that Cobra Commander is more of a title than a man. There is so much storytelling potential there, and even in these issues, I know that I've just barely scratched the surface. The thing I really tried to focus on was making sure that each commander was a unique individual. If it was just half-a-dozen cookie-cutter commanders, sprinkled throughout history, I'd be doing a disservice to the readership (and telling a super-boring story to boot). Instead, I tried to make them all stand on their own. They have different backgrounds, different personalities, different motivations. And because of that, they also have different ways of wielding power. I feel like I could write an entire series about each of these guys. Hopefully, people will feel like they could read an entire series about each of them. If so, then I'll know I did my job right." Allor is excited to be writing GI Joe. In addition to taking a look back at previous Cobra Commanders, a new Cobra operative named Siren will be introduced. The Baroness takes her under her wing but they are completely different people, which causes some tension between them. Allor's goal for his upcoming run on GI Joe is: "Mainly, I want to use this brief run to tell a fun, compelling story that expands the world of Cobra and broadens the legacy of Cobra Commander. I am so proud of this story, and so thrilled with the amazing work from all of the artists involved. I can't wait to see what people think." Read the full article at Newsarama.... [Read More] |

The G.I.Joe Collectors Club has posted the official brochure for the 2014 G.I.Joe Convention in Dallas, Texas! Many have asked What will this year's box set be? Well, we finally have an answer...ZOMBIE HUNTERS!
COBRA forces have acquired the “Compound Z” formula and have started testing it on their own soldiers. They believe by creating zombie warriors they can rule the World and turn its population into mindless creatures. G.I. JOE headquarters is split on how to handle the zombie affliction: save or eradicate? GENERAL HAWK has formed two groups to solve this deadly problem. Who will be successful? Will it be the Zombie Hunters whose mission is to eradicate those infected or will it be the E.C.O. (Emergency Chemical Operations) Force trying to rescue and find an antidote for those afflicted? And, what about the team members who become zombies, are they a casualty of war? If too many are turned, who will be left to complete their mission? Only time will tell and it’s running out! The 2014 G.I. JOE vs. COBRA convention set contains highly requested teams and some new additions available for the first time in the modern era 25A action figure style. This special edition set includes:
You can view the Brochure in it's entirety over on the Official 2014 G.I.Joe Convention Page. Are you excited about the figures coming out way? Sound off on the Hisstank.com Forums!... [Read More] |

Back in Summer we posted some images of a toy that definitely grabbed our attention, Acid Rain ST-1 Stronghold Marine 303rd Quad Eyes Version by Oritoys. The Acid Rain toys by Oritoy seemed to have much potential and the soldier figures were eagerly awaited. Transforming mecha, armor, AND GI JOE-sized figures? This is something many of us dreamed of when we were kids.
We haven't heard much since Summer, until now. Blackrazor1 gave us the heads up that the Acid Rain World blog has been updated. Updated with what? Images of the long awaited Acid Rain figures! The figures are fully articulated and feature paint apps that evoke a battle worn appearance. We've mirrored the images here, read on to check out the new figures!... [Read More] |

Yesterday, when the G.I.Joe Collectors Club released the Official 2014 JoeCon Convention Brochure, many fans noted that an exclusive 4 inch G.I.Joe Colton figure was going to be released alongside the Club's 12" Convention Exclusive Offering. The figure includes a stand and 50th Anniversary Backdrop.
The question on whether or not this figure would be offered to those who do not collect the 12 inch offering and/or already had plans to purchase the 4 inch figure set has been answered and great news for all! Today, via their Facebook Page, the Club announced that yes, Joe Colton will be available outside of the 12" Exclusive offering. Check it out - We are getting questions about the 3 3/4" Joseph Colton figure for GIJoeCon. "I see that there is a 3 3/4” Joseph Colton that comes with the General’s Package (with the club display stand system). I’m a 3 3/4” collector and don’t want to purchase the 12” set just to get this loose figure. Are there any plans to make this figure available to other attendees?" Yes! We will be carding a number of these same figures (no display stand or backdrop) for our 3 3/4” attendees to have access to this figure. This was left out of the brochure accidentally. We hope that answers everyone's questions. So for those of you that were concerned that you would have to get both sets now, no worries! Make sure to stop by the Club page and thank them for the good news, then join us back here for discussion already in progress!... [Read More] |

It's been a minute since we've posted a custom (sorry guys!), so we're back with a custom so awesome that it makes me wonder...how isn't this guy working for the industry already?
The gentleman in question is none other than the mighty phantro, whose skill in creating G.I.Joe Transformer Cross Overs out of existing product is legendary. His latest creation, the G.I.Joe Autobot Snarler Cycle is definitely no different. As I've said in the past, you'd be hard pressed to note that this isn't a factory made piece. From Phantro - The silver mirage/snarler cycle are perhaps my two favorite Joe bikes aside from the RAM. This is my tribute to those vehicles. I intend to make a RAM cycle next with Wreck Gar. I used several magnets to attach all the gear and weapons and I am very happy with it. Also made these two custom figures to go with the transformer, In my mind they work well together as a team. I posted the figures separately with their bios in other threads yesterday. Thank you so much for viewing and feedback is always welcome. Read on to check out more images and to share your thoughts on this killer custom!... [Read More] |

According to The List and by extension IGN, Adrianne Palicki will reprise her role as Lady Jaye in the third installment of G.I.Joe!
The actress starred alongside Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson in the action blockbuster 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' earlier this year and she has confirmed that she will reprise her role as femme fatale Lady Jaye in a third film. When asked about the intensity of the scenes and filming, Adrianne stated - "I think it's hard to find females who can do the action stuff and I think that when people see somebody ... there are only like three or four [actresses] who are in all that stuff, because it's like once people see that they can do it, they put them in a lot of things. So yes, I definitely get a lot of scripts for action films." She added: "I love doing it. I love doing my own stunts. I'm one of those crazy people ... but it's a fine line because you don't want to get pigeon-holed. That's why I try to do comedies or even a little independent film, just to stay above board - to keep it real, and to keep me from getting injured once in a while! I'm 30 and I feel like I'm 57 years old!" Make sure to check out the full article then join us after the break for discussion already in progress.... [Read More] |

It's a big day for our friends over at 3DJoes! They've just completed their archive of all G.I.Joe A Real American Hero figures from 1982 through 1994! That's right, everything! Here's the scoop from 3DJ -
3DJoes.com was born back on August 24th, 2012. It only took us 16 months to document every figure released from the monumental "G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero" collection. This has been a tremendous journey and we could not have done it without contributions and support from many of you. So, to everyone that helped get the word out, contributed pieces from their collection, donated photos, spent time slaving away at the light box, gave emotional support, and especially those that have bought posters to help offset the costs of maintaining 3DJoes.... THANK YOU! Today we roll out the last of the 1994 figures: the 30th Anniversary figures. These beautiful figures took us back to the basics, and after a few brightly colored years with mostly outlandish concepts it was a much appreciated return to the military roots of G.I. Joe. They first released the Action Marine, Pilot, Sailor, and Soldier individually, and then they later released a boxed set including those four (with some tweaks) and a new Action Pilot Astronaut with a space capsule! What a fun end to the A Real American Hero run, and how appropriate to look back at where G.I. Joe began and pay tribute. Check them out over on the 1994 figure overview! 3DJoes 1994 G.I.Joe ARAH Overview P.S. Don't worry, 3DJoes isn't done yet. Next we will document the large 1982-1986 vehicles and then we're moving on to 87-94. Yo Joe! Make sure to read on and join us in congratulating our friends at 3DJoes for the awesome job they've done!... [Read More] |

Merry Christmas Everyone! Here's a little Christmas Present for the Joe fans, especially the fans of G. I. Joe Live Action Movie Franchise.
Director Jon M Chu sat down with Coming Soon for a bit of a chat regarding G. I. Joe 3. Mr. Chu says that not only is the world building still coming together, but they have many surprises in store for the fans. "I love being active in world-building, so we're working on "G.I. Joe 3" right now. We're designing tons of stuff, which takes a little bit, but to me, that's obviously where I like to push myself and where I want to be for a long time and get to know better...I'm excited to bring in new characters and fun things beyond Bruce and Dwayne that we're working on and some great villains, but we're forming those ideas now. I'm really excited - it's going to be a whole ‘nother level." Regarding Channing Tatum's (Duke's) death, the director said: "It all gets carried away again. They asked me about Channing and I don't know. You never know in these movies, and that's all I said, and suddenly it became "Channing Tatum might be back." To me, every possibility is open and we're writing the script right now and we're figuring everything out. It's an extremely low possibility when you kill somebody like that, it's pretty much it, but you never know with "G.I. Joe." We did that with Storm Shadow, too." Though no release date is set for the movie, Mr. Chu says they're hoping to move into production next year. "I think we're going to be shooting next year. We're pretty motivated to get that up."... Responsibilities • Creating and updating banner ads for all the sites we sponsor---this is a biggie! In addition to hisstank, we’re on about 6 or so star wars sites, fwoosh, rebel force radio, a walking dead site that I cannot remember and the official GI Joe fan club. We need banner ads that are tailored to each specific site. • making and regularly updating category banners for the store---I like making these myself but if you can do a better looking one I’m all for it. • helping out with featured products homepage graphics • creating layered product photos for individual product pages Requirements • While I don’t think it will be an issue you gotta be at least 18 years of age. • Photoshop skills specifically making animated gifs • You can’t be a Jerk • You gotta be able to keep a secret, no blabbing on message boards details of our business or anything else we may share with you. • Must have a web cam. Note if you don’t have a one we’ll provide you one. How do I apply? Easy, simply mock up an animated banner ad using our logo from dorksidetoys.com. We’re looking to create something similar to what BBTS uses here on the tank. Send me a PM here to let me know you’re interested and then you can email your mock up to [email protected] Note this is a part-time gig. You'll get to work from your home.
