Looks like TakaraTomy has jumped onboard to distribute G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra toys in Japan. Shown here is a vehicle that is familiar to collectors of the DTC(Direct To Consumer) era, the R.H.I.N.O.!
This repainted ground assault vehicle comes with Rampage. With multiple storage spaces for troopers, a built-in launchpad for a combat helicopter, and bristling with weaponry, this vehicle packs in a ton of playability while maintaining a militaristic, and futuristic appearance. The RHINO is significantly bigger than most $15 price-point vehicles, yet smaller than $40 vehicles such as the upcoming movie Night Raven. Could this be the first official Charlie size class vehicle for the G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra line? This vehicle will retail for 7,140 yen in Japan. HISS Tank.com boards member kennywr22 comes through with a new listing from Target. The listing is for a G.I. Joe Then and Now Vehicle + Figure set. The price for this item is $19.99.
Could it be a Modern Era version of a classic Real American Hero vehicle with a G.I. Joe Rise Of Cobra figure? Or vice versa? Or could it be something else altogether? We aren't exactly sure what this set will be of, but it definitely sounds like either a combination of a Modern Era toy along with a Rise of Cobra toy, or a Modern Era set of a figure and vehicle. It may even be a Target exclusive, which isn't surprising, considering that they've had 5 exclusive sets within the past year. Stay tuned for more information, and in the meantime, join the speculation by clicking the discuss button below! |

HISS Tank.com member kennywr22 comes through once again with another listing from Target, Holiday Combat Heroes! Set for release later this year, just in time to coincide with the holidays, these G.I. Joe Combat Heroes will probably have christmas canes and other random holiday pieces in lieu of their weapons.
What better way to end the year than to see Destro Claus as a stocking stuffer? Scarface the red nosed trooper? Destro Claus' sleigh powered by 12 Iron GrenaDiEER? As the holidays approach later this year, these Combat Heroes usher in the Rise of Christmas! |

G.I. Joe Resolute was one of the most highly anticipated G.I. Joe series to premiere this year. We had new comics to look forward to, a movie coming this summer, and Resolute was an all new cartoon added to the mix, announced last summer.
Since last summer, news and information on G.I. Joe Resolute was hard to come by. Fans were eager to see it, and wondering what was going on; toys, a box set, and even comic packs were already on shelves. Even as spring approached, there wasn't much said about it. That all changed this month, as the series was announced to premiere on Adult Swim. Fans rejoiced, and then the waiting game started. This past week, G.I. Joe Resolute was aired on Adult Swim, shocking fans, living up to the description that "no one is safe", and increasing the desire for more G.I. Joe Resolute toys, especially the figures slated for Modern Era waves 14 & 15. Never before have we seen diehard fans clamor for another Snake Eyes figure, until now. So our Poll Of the Week(POW), is this: Did you enjoy G.I. Joe Resolute? Click on the discuss button below to vote and share your thoughts! Yo Joe! |

New images of the Toys 'R' Us exclusive Headquarters For Heroes Firefly have emerged. This figure, from the G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra line bears resemblance to the G.I. Joe Resolute version of Firefly. This figure comes with enough accessories and weaponry to sabotage anything the G.I. Joe team might use against M.A.R.S. and/or Cobra.
Also shown is Cobra Commander. These images show an up close look at his mask, as well as all of his weapons & accessories. Click on the title bar to take a closer look at both of these figures! |

The MTV Movies Blog has posted their interview with Marlon Wayans, who plays Ripcord in G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra. In this interview, he confirms a few things that should, or might, ease the concerns of raging fanboys everywhere:
“The movie is serious, action and some comedy - but not all comedy,” insisted the star, who will bring an extremely different look to the High Altitude Low Opening jumper in the August 7th flick. “You pull off the reigns; I did what was appropriate for the role and for the character.” “It wasn’t about ‘Hey, let it be the me comedy show’,” promised Wayans. “It is G.I. Joe. It’s supposed to be badass action. So you commit to it - and I found the fun in being a badass, for once in my life.” He found the accelerator suits to be a burden to wear: "They may look cool, but if hell were a suit, they would be the accelerator suit,” he laughed. “They make you run 45-55 miles an hour [in the movie]. We are doing a high-speed chase, chasing down the Cobra bad guys. We are wearing those uniforms and shooting missiles [in the scene glimpsed in the trailer]. They are really cool, but really uncomfortable.” To check out the whole story, click on the title bar! |

A few weeks back, HISS Tank.com boards member Rooster3D posted his CG model based off of the H.I.S.S. Tank from G.I. Joe Resolute, a design he had seen from Dusty Abell. He also mentioned that he had seen a design for the Tomahawk.
Now we have our first look at the design. This is actually different from the Tomahawk that appears in G.I. Joe Resolute, as this was the first design. The one that ended up in the show was designed by Dan Norton. Though they share similar aspects, this one has a different cockpit and seemingly more weaponry. Nonetheless, both are designs that fans would wants toys of. Also added is a full color image of the H.I.S.S. Tank as it appears in G.I. Joe Resolute. This is another vehicle that fans voiced a desire to see in toy form, after the finale. It is a modernized update with the troop carrying capacity of the H.I.S.S. II, quite possibly the most armored plating of any H.I.S.S. variant, and is armed to the teeth. Also up is an older of Snake Eyes by Joaquim Dos Santos, more background designs(as well as the unused Cobra Asp vehicle) by Dan Norton & storyboards by Brandon Mckinney. Hopefully, all of the artwork can be compiled one day into a G.I. Joe Resolute art book. Even before G.I. Joe Resolute was aired, there was already a desire by fans to see just what these guys were cooking up. Click on the title bar to see more, and thanks to all of the artists who worked on G.I. Joe Resolute, for posting their art & designs up on their Deviantart pages for fans all over to see, and for bringing us an exciting G.I. Joe animation series! |
