The 12" Cobra Commander by Sideshow Collectibles started making it's way to the doorsteps of fellow HISS Tank'ers last week. Being the leader of Cobra, it's fitting that Cobra Commander is the first enemy figure to be released in the line.
HISS Tank.com staff member vadersquest has obtained this Cobra Commander figure recently, and reviewed it. With a modernized take on the hooded leader, how did this long awaited figure turn out? Click on the discuss button below to find out! |

HISS Tank.com boards member MrClean has rounded up some of his G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra figures, and provided us with images of them. These aren't just random joes thrown together, this set consists primarily of greyshirts, the movie version of greenshirts.
Shown here are Duke, Scarlett, Airborne repaint, Sgt. Stone, Breaker, Cover Girl, some guy with a vest who may, or may not be Crosshair, and the guy who some say is Flint, some say is Hawk, and I say is your mom. Awwwww, will you look at that, Hasbro has renamed the Night Raven from G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra. This time around, it's called the Nightbird, and comes with Aero-Viper. Could it be due to the lukewarm response from the fandom, or just out of respect for it's much bigger brother?
Could this just be the name for the international release? Possibly, however, why would the name need to be changed? Could it be so that buyers won't be confused if Hasbro plans to release the vintage Night Raven, retooled to fit 2 Modern Era figures, later on in the line? The fandom as a whole, definitely prefers the classic Night Raven over the movie version. Images were posted by jps_trading_ltd. Click on the title bar to see more images! |

NBC had has posted excerpts from VMAN's interview with Joseph Gordron-Levitt about his role in G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra. Here's what they had to say:
"[It was] really, really fun," he told the mag. "It looks badass. It's that 8-year-old in me getting to be a f***ing cool-looking guy." "It's spectacle," he said of the film, based on the line of military action figures and '80s cartoon series. "It's not about real or fake." We'll see what he's talking about in August. For now, discuss the new Cobra Commander by clicking the discuss button below! |

Sideshow Collectibles continues their May Fantacular event, with a new q/a session, which answers another G.I. Joe question:
I was just wondering if Sideshow has any plans on making a Zartan figure that changes color… and his Swamp Skier too? That would be so cool! To which Sideshow replied: Our design team is currently at work on Zartan, and both the color-change feature and Swamp Skier are possibilities - we will pass on your suggestions! So there you have it folks, master of disguise and Dreadknok leader Zartan and his Swamp Skier could be invading your 1/6 scale figure collections soon! |

HISS Tank.com boards member toyssir898 has given us new looks at some previously shown prototypes, as well as new ones that have never been seen before!
Last week we revealed a helicopter, which is presumably the Dragonfly from G.I. Joe Resolute. It's certainly different from the Resolute Tomahawk, and actually has a a similar profile to the original Dragonfly. The newest image of this helicopter shows it's missle launchers exposed, it turns out that these launchers can be hidden in the sides of the fuselage. This solves the mystery of where the missles launch from. We also get other views of the Snow Cat, Valor VS Venom Sting Raider repaint, and Crimson Hydra, the repaint of the Valor VS Venom Sky Sweeper Jet. This time around, it is a Cobra fighter and comes with Aero Viper. Also shown are the prototypes of the Sigma 6 Deep Sea Diversion, a vehicle that came with Tunnel Rat and was released towards the very end of the line, the Air Assault glider that came with Spytroops Barrel Roll, other currently unknown vehicles, and the Cobra Night Landing. Could the Cobra Night Landing be set for re-release? Last seen in 1998, this vehicle could be used by Firefly or the Eels/Cobra Divers. Click on the title bar to check all of these prototypes out! |
