I think it was originally planned to be removable, but then they changed it.

I think that's a great idea, and it follows from the BAF and BAV sets. The next logical step would be a Build-A-Base series.

I'm just curious to see if the collectors bug has worn off for some. I think I'm done for now. I've seen tons of new figures on the pegs but I don't buy them anymore. I feel like the hype is gone.(I'm talking strictly Joes)
Does anyone else feel this way? Plus I've noticed that the shelves are always full now, where before they were empty most of the time. You don't have to remind me about the economy, I know that has some effect but I know some of the rabid collectors won't let that get in the way. So I'm wondering: Are you still a rabid collector? or Are you done? or Are you somewhere in the middle? Last edited by Optimus Scourge; 01-27-2009 at 09:12 AM.. |

Flipping through Marvel GI Joe comics, I noticed the comic book kept the Cobra transport helicopter pretty much consistent throughout the entire run of the comic. To me it seemed like an iconic Cobra vehicle, up there with a HISS tank.
Was there ever a codename given to it? Did Hasbro ever make a toy of it? Last edited by Optimus Scourge; 01-27-2009 at 06:24 PM.. |

No they have not. Wish they did. That would be a great diorama piece of having CC with a bunch of Televipers inside and he's yelling at cronies outside, while he's lifting off.

They have been spotted, but none of the stores around me have it yet, either, too many older vehicles, wave 2 is just hitting full force.

I'm not done, but I am relieved there isn't much new out after the onslaught late last year. My wallet needs a hiatus lol

The local shopko had 2 sting raiders last week. I don't collect joes, but they caught my eye.

I'm down to only a few figures here and there. Of course, it didn't help that I saw the same ten figures on the pegs for several weeks in a row.

I only have about 12 sealed figures that I bought. When the prices when up I bailed out. I've actually been debating on selling what I have too.

I'm not done but I'm not a fan of Python Patrol, Tiger Force, Resolute, or the movie figs so I don't know where that leaves me at this point.
Besides I took advantage of most of the HTS sales and got all of the new figs I wanted before I ever saw them at retail. |

I never collect all the figures of any line only the ones I like.
So I'm not done at all. I skipped quite a few Joe figures. |

Yeah, I guess I can agree there, I don't feel the need to "get them all" anymore, I'm pretty happy with what I have, but I would like to see a few more vehicles and maybe a few Joes

I have plans for a custom one some day. Might not look like the one in the comic, but it will do

I'm done with GI Joes with the exception of trying to get Shockwave and Blowtorch. It's kind of sad but I really have to cut back, plus I'm refocusing my cash on a Gundam or two a month.

I don't have a choice though. For one, I currently can't find anything I don't have already at retail (and yes I'm "missing" a good bit), and secondly, well, I can't really afford collecting stuff right now anyway ![]() |

He is a "core" character, and I'd guess that Hasbro want him readily available to casual fans or people new to collecting, they are gonna want a CC
Of course we collectors see it as too many, but to someone passing by just seeing a Cobra Commander on the pegs and having the childhood memories come back, may start someone into collecting.

Is it just me or are a majority of g.i.joe fans these days collecting more newer figures than the older ones. If so thats sad..... I think everyone needs to go back to their roots, start boycotting Hasbro for making these sorry lame remakes of figures and vehicles. anything made past the year 1994 is not even worth my time. Honestly i would rather start collecting toe-nail clippings.
