Hey guys I was just wondering about your opinion on how much the first issue of King Greyskull is worth MIB. I have an offer of $100 shipped from someone who wants to sell it to me. Do you think it's worth it?

Looks like I'm either going after a ML Giant Man or getting that Greyskull. What do you guys think?

Greyskull's worth is subjective.

Subjective? I though Hasbro did not make a lot of Convention Greyskulls and a good # of people opened theirs. I'm going for the Giant Man but I'm not going to pay over 100 for it.

Um, you mean Mattel right??

Anyway, I've been meaning to pick up King Grayskull as well, and was looking to try and nab the SDCC one if I could. (Found one on He-Man.org for $100 shipped too - unless were talking 'bout the same person here...)

Would very much like to use the packaging as display piece or playset background. Just what are the exact differences anyway between the two? I hear one has a flocked cape which I think is pretty neat. Aside from that and the obvious orb, I'm clueless.

For me, $100 is too much.

I'd say go for the Giant man, most plastic for your $$ and a huge piece to add to your MU display, the other figure is awesome and if he's like the last 1 you need then yeh bite the bullet and get that holy grail but if it's only half worth it to you spending that much, then it's obviously worth waiting for and chances are you may find 1 cheaper.patience is a vertue but it's also a pain in the ass waiting.

Thanks for tha advice guys. I missed out on the Giant Man auction but I continue to watch more. I will get one for under 100. I bit the bullet on Greyskull. It's the only MOTUC fig I don't have and no one is selling a MIB one for under 100. It will display nicely plus I have till pay day Fri to pay.

Is it your goal to get every figure including variants?

I have a Greyskull, but it is the second one they released. I got it as part of the sub I think, or off of Matty the day it went on sale.

I've had a sub for a couple years now. I started when the first TRU 2 packs came out so I had about a years worth of MOTUC to catch up on. I bought most of them at the 2010 GI Joe Convention in RI and the Boxed SDCC Greyskull is the only Classics fig I don't have except for the Clear and Bronzed version of Greyskull. So to me it was worth it. Nobody is selling it for 100 shipped. It displays nicely in the box.

I wanted him real bad before the 2nd one was released, and there was a time when I would have dropped $100 on him, but I'm happy with the one I ended up getting.

Did you get the Faker/ Bizzarro 2 pack?

You know I did. lol Skipped on the Zodak and She-Ra 2 packs. I never opened up my OG She-Ra. The bubble power one comming out this month is way better.

If you were saying a bronze grayskull for $100, you should jump for joy at that price. Given the re-release last year, the $100 your spending on the figure is mostly for the packaging, which is also very worth it. It's the centerpiece of my display.

I wish I had that Faker, and I wish I had that GL/ Zodak 2 pack too, but they were too pricey IMO.

I was lucky enough to find one at the chicago toy show for $25 and I sold the Bizarro for $15 so I was fortunate to get it for basically $10.

Still haven't seen the Zodak and Sher-Ra packs.

I saw them at TRU Express one day, but they were gone the next.

Saw Faker/ Bisarro at NYCC, but he was like $80 I think.

Bah, I should just bite the bullet and overpay for those two two-packs. Then I'll be current.

Exactly roshan. If it were loose I wouldn't care. I'm paying for the box which display's beautifully. I think it's worth it.

I thought TRU.com still had those sets available. They have to show up at some point.

The only one of the 2-packs I was ever able to get was the Merman/Aquaman one, and although many MOTU Classics fans didnt care for this version of Merman, I actually enjoy his colors much better than the originals'. The DCUC Aquaman is pretty cool too.

The one I really wanted to get my hands on was the Hawkman/Stratos one. Mostly because of that Stratos haveing rotatable wing armor (when the originals did not).

EDIT: And , In my opinion, the 2nd release of King Grayskull is much nicer (except for that weird flocked Christmas cape of his). The paint job is just so much more realistic...if thats what your into.
