Hello all
^_^ Er I would like to expand my graphic novel collection , although unfortunately, i kinda have no idea where to keep pursuing. IF you have any ideas or anything to get me more into graphic novels feel free
I prefer graphic novels cause it's the story all in one. Also I'm a Marvel & DC fan.
So Ones I have at the moment

Marvel

Secret WARS

War machine: secret invasion

Ultimate x-men return to weapon X

Civil WAR (if there is continued story arc that would be nice although not separate i.e a stand alone hero comic i.e spider-man issues 1-30)

Deadpool The circle chase and sins of the past

Uncanny X-force the complete collection vol.1

DC

JSA/JLA Virtue and Vice

Green Lanterns Revolt of the alpha lanterns

Red hood and the outlaws vols [1-7] - Really Liked this Saga of the New 52 , recommend for any fans of Red hood, Star fire and Arsenal

Batman Hush [Thanks Dr Kain]

Kingdom Come [thanks trebleshot]

The Killing Joke [Thanks Dr Kain]

All Star Batman & Robin.

New 52, Justice League, Vols 1-3.

Thanks all ^_^ hope to get a lot of reading

Batman:

HUSH
THe Long Halloween
Knightfall
The Killing Joke
Death in the Family
Illustrated by Neal Adams 1-3
Tales of the Demon
Year One
The Dark Knight Returns
No Man's Land

Saga of the Swamp Thing 1-6
Jack Kirby's Fourth World Omnibus 1-4
SUperman Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?
The New Teen Titans Games
Jonah Hex (anything you can get)
Crisis on INfinite Earths
Infinite Crisis
Final Crisis
Identity Crisis
Crisis on Multiple Earths 1-4
Flashpoint
Flash Chronicles

And check out the Showcase books. They collect about 500+ pages of books and run about $15-20 because they are not inked in the colors of them. There are stories that have never been reprinted before found in them.

Always buy added value trades when you can - that is to say ones that come with limited prints or signature plates and so on. Omnibus and Absolute editions are always desirable too.

If you just want to read and run, then pick up printings of the Marvel Essentials black and white books, although the Epic editions are colored and look nice on a shelf as well.

Just found this thread so I'll give you a few of my picks.

Marvel
Amazing Spiderman: Renew Your Vows (2015)
Astonishing X-Men: Gifted
Cable and Deadpool: If Looks Could Kill
Captain America: Winter Soldier Vol. 1 and 2
Daredevil by Mark Waid Vol. 1 (2011)
Hawkeye: My Life as a Weapon
Ultimate Spiderman: Power and Responsibility, Learning Curve, Double Trouble

DC
Batgirl: Year One
Batman/TMNT Vol. 1
Batman: The Court of Owls
Dark Nights: Metal
Superman: Birthright

IDW
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The IDW Collection Vol. 1
GI Joe: The IDW Collection Vol. 1

I'm not sure if you're into TMNT or GI Joe but The IDW Collections are a good place to start for both series. GI Joe especially since there are a lot of mini-series in addition to the main title so these collections will have everything in order. I especially recommend the IDW TMNT. It's been my favorite version of the TMNT and combines elements from the Mirage comics and the 80s cartoon.

Marvel
X-Men: The Dark Phoenix Saga - one of my favorite story arcs ever and no movie has ever done it justice.

DC
Formerly Known as the Justice League and I Can't Believe It's Not the Justice League - two of the funniest graphic novels created by the talented team of writers Keith Giffen and J. M. DeMatteis and artists Kevin Maguire and Joe Rubinstein.
Identity Crisis - just loved this story. It's sad and shocking.

Vertigo
Death: The High Cost of Living - not a long read but worth every word.

You guys might like the Marvel Epic Collections. Think of crossing a nice deluxe edition (colored, nice uniform presentation) with the Essentials editions (size, pricing). If you aren't into high-end trades like Omnibus or signed editions, the Epic Collections are the way to go.

I'm a fan of older Marvel and DC, although some of my best comic-reading experiences in the modern era have been with Darkhorse books.

You can't go wrong with the Mignola-verse:
1. Hellboy
2. BPRD: Plague of Frogs
3. BPRD: 1946-1948
4. BPRD: Hell on Earth
5. Abe Sapien
6. Lobster Johnson

Conan books are also pretty good, especially the earliest ones. The Goon is fun - a bit immature but entertaining nonetheless.
