Has this been cannon for awhile, or has this recently been written for MOTUC? There's so much here that I was unaware of! I just figured Catra was an evil doer from Etheria.

I think the rivalry between her and She-Ra was there from the beginning, but I think some of her back story regarding what she did prior to working for Hordak may be new. I'm not nearly as knowledgeable about She-Ra's mythos as I am MOTU.

It seems to take elements of the 2002 series, and stir them up with some of the classic, along with a few new twists. In the original she was an Etherian that stole her mask from a Magikat.
