Hi everyone!
I've followed this page for a while now, loving the posts with artsy pictures introducing new figures or Extreme sets, and finally decided to join the forum as well. I grew up in East Germany, so no action figures in my childhood. Although in hindsight I always had a love for miniatures, and I demanded those rubber Indians and Cowboys from my parents even though they did not really comprehend what a girl wanted with them. I also already used Fimo to customize some figures that I were not available to buy. My first proper fandom after the world had changed was "Stargate SG-1" and that's how I got introduced to action figures. At first I only had wanted a single Jack, but then I read that each figure comes with pieces of the gate, so the flood gates were opened and never closed again. It's been ten years now that I started, first with collecting, then setting up scenes and also customizing figures, thanks to some inspiring guys in the Gateworld forum. I also own the Star Trek and most current Gotham line from Diamond Select Toys and 7" figures with realistic faces are definitely my favorite scale. I also have some 5" Doctor Who and Torchwood ones, but 3,75" is just too small for my liking. And I always love when figures come with lots of props and backgrounds for playing. I also have been sucked now into the 1:6 scale world but try not to buy too many of those, as that is getting expensive. But the Quantum Mechanix Star Trek line is quite awesome and I finally broke down and got my first Hot Toys figure with Wolverine. Last edited by Astra; 11-08-2017 at 05:43 PM.. |

Haha, if you knew how appropriate that is! In fact, I consider the Baywatch Ken the very first figure I bought (because, no Barbies in my childhood either, then again I don't think I would have been interested in them) I also still have the beach car. |
