I really liked the concept of these figures back when I was a kid.

I have Green Lantern, Parallax, Darkseid, and Hawkman.

Thoughts? Comments? Pics?

I liked the sculpts on the figures, but some of the accessories seemed strange. Superman using a Kryptonite ray?

Though in hindsight, I really did like Parallax.

I used to have Hawkman, waaaaaaaay back when the line was being clearanced at KB Toys, as a spur-of-the-moment gift from my father. Seeing as he rarely bought me toys at the time, it must have cost him a dollar or something.

Since I didn't know much more about Hawkman than whatever blurb was on the packaging, if there was one, it didn't hold any importance to me. Even then, I still knew those talon weapons had to be silly Mattel add-on weapons.

EDIT: Kenner? D'oh.

Total Justice was a line made by Kenner back when they had the DC License, in the spirit of the original Kenner Super Powers line. There was only ever three waves:

Flash, Kyle Rayner Green Lantern, 90's Aquaman (with the hook hand), Batman, Robin, Darkseid
Superman, Hawkman, A different Batman, Despero
Huntress, Black Lightning, Connor Hawke Green Arrow, Parallax

There were some unproduced ones that Hasbro made after taking over Kenner I understand - Blue Beetle, different versions of Flash and GL, and Doctor Polaris.

Decent series, the armour was something or nothing, though for some characters it made sense - Green Lantern's for example was just the kind of thing that Kyle Rayner would come up with. The sculpts underneath were nice. It's just a pity the line never included Wonder Woman or Martian Manhunter for the complete "big 7" JLA lineup.

I know the sculpts were used, along with other Kenner sculpts, for some JLA boxed sets at some point. I've got one somewhere which included a Zauriel based off of the Hawkman, a Lex Luthor in a business suit, and even Impulse!

Overall, one of those great toy lines that died out before its time. It could have been a new Super Powers line.

I still have a bunch of these somewhere. In fact I think I may have an Aquaman still sealed somewhere. Some of those figures were a pain to stand though. My favorite though was superman. I thought it was a really good sculpt.

Some of the figures were better then others but it was a good line. Parallax was my favorite figure in the whole line.

I have the first wave and a few of the others. I always really wanted a Parallax having loved the design from the comics but never got hold of one!

Looking back on them I respect what they tried to do with the sculpts, but I think it's just a little over done. However, it's pretty similar to some of the late 90s Toybiz stuff with the "dynamic" fixed poses even though the articulation is still essentially big 5...and I always loved those toys no matter what so I can't be too hard on TJ.

You could certainly point the figure at Todd McFarlane for those dynamic poses.

I have most of the TJ guys. Had to get Parallax off eBay back when the line was finishing. Skipped Darkseid because of the dumb claw they stuck on his arm.

Yep. Those were sold as 2-packs through the old Hasbrocollector.com site. (One of the 2-packs included a tiny Atom, too.) Polaris and Beetle are cool, though Beetle has one of the most X-TREEEEME poses of the whole line.

TJ didn't, but both were included in the KB-exclusive "JLA" continuation of the line.

Some of the sets included figures of the evil "hard light" doppelgangers from a storyline early in the Grant Morrison JLA relaunch. I've got the Batman and Flash ones -- they're actually pretty cool!

EDIT: This site has pics of the JLA line's figures, as well as links at the bottom to the TJ waves: JLA Line

Thanks for that link! It reminds me that I still need to get a Green Lantern from that 2 pack with Dr. Polaris.

I LOVED the TJ/JLA lines! I used to have them all, but I sold some of them off at the height of their popularity to pay some bills. I still have most of them in boxes that I will hopefully be able to unbox some day.

The ToyFare exclusives Eradicator and Reverse Flash were awesome.

TJ was great for what it was. DC characters finally had an answer the Toy Biz's huge Marvel line of figures. The line did have some problems though as others have pointed out, huge lame accessories, lack of articulation, and the crazy muscles. They had so much definition that they all seemed like they were on steriods!

Still, I have the Superman/Batman 2pack (or was this part of Superman's line?), Robin, GL, Flash, Hawkman, Parallax and both versions of Aquaman (gold and gunmetal armor). Actually I think I still have one of them MOSC. Parallax definitely was the best figure in the line.

I had Aquaman and Hawkman and I was deluded enough to let my great-nephew play with them last winter (yes, someone can hit me). I think Hawkman survived. I did pick up Connor Hawke this summer at a flear market. I thought it was neat to see Connor as a figure.
