I have many figures currently in storage. The figures and sets include Legos, Mega Bloks, McFarlane Halo figures, various NECA lines, Transformers, and SH Monsterarts. I keep them in clear sterilte bins. I put some bubble wrap as a barrier between the figure and the bin. These are going to be in there for many years to come. I am worried if there will be some long term unforeseen affects on theses figures. I am worried about paint rubbing off or any other degradation. I also keep most of these out of sunlight as well. Are my fears warranted or am I overthinking things? Is there something else I am missing?

There are so many different variables, it’s impossible to know. I had toys from the 90’s stored in totes that still went brittle and warped. Also have toys from the 80’s that look just as good as the day I bought them in 1984. I’ve had white plastics turn yellow without ever being exposed to sunlight.
All has to do with storage conditions, humidity, temp, the chemistry of the plastics... just gotta hope for the best.
