Just saw the Avengers movie toys in person for the 1st time at TRU. Articulation is inconsistent. Some figures have double jointed knees, some like Iron Man and Hulk, have ball jointed knees. Most lack ankle and wrist articulation.

Oh and parachute Cap? Yeah I thought he was fully articulated. He is, BUT he's just a repaint of the movie cap from the First Avenger line!

BTW the Mark VII Iron Man mold is already used 3 times in the 1st wave WOW! Hulk looked disappointing. Bet Loki lacks articulation compared to the King Loki from the Thor line.

Hope we get fully articulated 4" figures, because right now all I want are some of the vehicles, the Quinjet and Assault Armors. I was already turned off by Marvel movie lines in general due to the softer plastic they make the figures out of, but wow, Avengers had much potential but leaves me underwhelmed.

yeah seems hasbro is cutting back on articulation based on costs i heard. noticed some of the new movie joes are missing ankle articulation and only have 1 knee joint.shame that higher prices are going hand in hand with less articulation. =\

Yeah they look pretty crap. The IM2 line was great, but other than that the movie lines quality has decreased to this total crap. People want quality products and will pay for them regardless. Just make something decent! They'd actually sell more if the prices went down!

funny thing is though is that these toys actually look pretty good. like the iron man heads look right with what seems to be actual indentations in the eye holes. things feel a lot more sharp, the likenesses feel closer to the actors, but it's that damn articulation being lost which is the dealbreaker for me.

but-but...this lack of articulation should not be present in Ultimate Hawkeye and Ultimate Thor, right? RIGHT?!

The mold detail and paint looks good. Loss of articulation is lame. I'm pretty much only getting non IM, Cap, and Thor figs. May even skip the movie Hulk and wait for the MU remold of WW Hulk they previewed.

Is Iron Man based off of the IM2 figures or MU figures?

The ultimate Thor has the same articulation as the regs, but still a decent figures.

Saw Loki today, very nice sculpt details. I can live with less articulation, but wrists and ankles really need to be there.

So less articulation that Ultimate Iron Man and Ultimate Cap MU? So that puts them on Par with Ultimate Cap from the Cap Movie line then, huh?

The cheap plastic and paint apps ruin it man. Didn't even notice any of the stuff you mentioned.

It IS present....pass on both figures.

Neither, at 1st it looks like a retool of the Iron Man 2 Mark VI but NOOoooooo it's a new mold that's less articulated....and already used 3 times in the 1st assortment.

Nope, because they have less articulation than Ultimate Cap.

Gaaaahhhhhhh the figures are lucky they're Ultimate, other wise I, and I'm sure anyone else, would easily pass.

Bummer. I probably pick up a few. From the sounds of it it seems they're like the Spiderman line. Some of those figures were ok for me. I'll just have to see these in person.

I am going to get Hulk just to complete the team, along with movie cap. Don't care for Thor and Iron Man seeing as they don't look much different than the others. With that being said, I will be getting movie Hawkeye and Widow just to complete the circle. Loki...well yea I need Loki. Maybe if I see some aliens when on clearance.

seeing these in person will help my decisons, but the ultimate thor/hawkeye look good, also the unmasked cap, and king loki look great, the hulk headsculpt looks badass and not bad overall but not great, the new wave MU hulk or 2pack hulk will be my focus to acquire.

Just get the upcoming MU Hulk- the Avengers line looks awful and has that crappy gimmick.

Hawkeye and Black Widow might be nice- I'll almost certainly get those.
Ultimates Thor is a must- just for customizing though- I kinda hate the Ultimates stuff.

I dig the Mini Muggs! I'm definitely going to buy Iron Man and Cappy...but yeah, not feeling the actual figures, and that's kinda sad.

MOTHER*$%&@#

If I wanted to display bricks with limited articulation I'd stick with the much better looking, way better sculpted Marvel Select Line, Hasbro! But since you know I'm a sucker and need to complete my 3.75" Ultimates you will patiently await the surrender of my money. Bastards!

maybe hasbro will release avengers figures with more articulation, in the near future, alot like the star wars line and the incredible hulk movie toys, to get you to buy the same figure twice.

I think the big H has been jealous of the success of the DCIH and GL lines and wanted a line with the same bad paint apps and articulation.
I understand that collectors are not the intended market but who is? What kid is going to say they need 4 Iron Man figures this month and that the iron men or thor they want are the higher priced less articulated figures from the new line as opposed to the figures from prior movies.
You say they look different, I say I dont see a difference. Arc power cell is round. thor looks passingly like kirks dad.

I'm still waiting to see them in person before I make a decision one way or the other. Loki is about the only one I will get regardless. Maybe Hawkeye and Widow.

I have zero interest in movie lines as it is..I feel like I am buying a Chis Helmsworth (or insert any actor/actress) action figure..not a Thor action figure. The closer to actors resemblance the less interest I have.

I thought the same thing. The faces on these figures are impeccable. That's not enough for most collectors to buy them, but I don't think this line is meant for us at all. We're lucky to be getting some Ultimate versions thrown in the mix at all.

Aside from the Ultimates, Hulk, Loki and Black widow I'm reallocating my Avengers funds to Marvel MegaBlok minifigs. Same articulation for less than three bucks, lol.

Picked up the Reed Richards, Mark V IM, and Silver Surfer MiniFigs this morning for less than a tenner.

I'll put the big Avengers money into the Helicarrier and a couple Quinjets........
