So I thought with all of this news about Marvel Universe figs, Thor and Cap figs as well....I thought we could take this time to show our appreciation for Hasbro (albeit in a semi-humorous manner)

What do you guys have to show!

Until Mattel can master the 3 3/4 figures, Hasbro will always win.

Hasbro is BOSS. They have worked miracles with 3 3/4" scale, and that's all that matters.

Personally I'm more of a Macfarlane guy (Probably be more of a Toybiz guy if they were still around), but in the battle between Mattel and Hasbro, as my friend Tiberius said, Hasbro will always win.

I like Mcfarlane figures alot myself, I grew up watching Spawn and The Maxx, I had the comics, figures... but as detailed as they were they were cheap statues really. Only a handful of figures Todd produced havy any amount of articulation, the entire sports line is meant to capture a great iconic pose or attribute of the character. The Likeness is uncanny, but I want articulation, accessories, and details! Take mcfarlance head sculpts and clothing sculpt and mix in some gi joe articulation and you'd have some sick figures. Like hot toys but miniture and on a budget!

As far as appreciation for Hasbro goes... Once I get steady local supply, a stop to the pointless repaints and repacks of already reissued stuff and send me a thank you letter for spending hundred's of dollars on pieces of plastic made by Chinese people who could give a flying fuck less about quality control and more about quality of life, frankly Hasbro owes me and it's workers a day of appreciation!

But in all seriousness, they are making strides in some areas and still lacking in others, they win us with 1 figure and lose us on another. Iron man is about the only character most of us can stomach repaints for and even then its either the nicer of the armours or you get em all because that's the type of collector you are. I have a harder time finding them let alone appreciating them, and when the alternative is buying through ebay or online hasbro loses points for availability. The constant repacks, remolds and repaints is enough to drive someone bonkers, SDCC stuff costing us a fortune and sometimes having the best figures. Or the figures we really want like redskull, crossbones, vision, archangle etc are uneven odds. Then once you find the damn figure the face is all fucked looking or an arm breaks off... sometime I wonder if I should just stop collecting this scale all together, But then I see a a figure like the Jim Lee Cyclops and my heart melts a little and I forget all about the nasty things I said..... " I'm an Asshole".

Iron Man is David Bowie like when it comes the the Armors because he doesn't stick with one that long these days I mean look at the last 3: the original Extremis was around the time of Avengers Disassembled until right before Civil War & then we had the newer one until 09 since he downgraded & took us back throught time on all of his Armors (which makes me want that Safe/Sentinet Armor he took on after he slept with Hill) & now he has the bleeding edge one which will sadly change is about 2,3,or 4 years give or take but I like the armors so why not buy almost all of them y'know?

Constant repacks and repaints are what keeps new customers coming in. This isn't a collector's only line. Look at it this way: My last girlfriend's ex husband threw away every last one of his son's toys during a fit of rage. I found this out as I handed the kid a brand new Carnage figure. He now had no Spider-man to fight him. But hey, Hasbro makes sure there's always Spider-man, Iron Man, and Wolverine on the shelves, which happen to be his favorite characters. Problem solved with a quick trip to the toy store.

New fans, like those being born every day, need to be able to get into the line as well, without going on Ebay. That won't happen if all they ever see are the 1980's Avengers lineup.

Yeah exactly I guess it's fair since the toy lines do have to cater to every area of the market

This the most epic, perfect analogy I've ever seen for Iron Man. Seriously.

Agreed. Cable would be a close second for me, but WW Hulk is like a finely sculpted statue of a Greek God... with articulation.

If this is a Hasbro appreciation thread, then shouldn't it belong in the General Discussion forum? Yes, I think so

And as grateful as I am for some of the MU figures they've done (and I was able to get), I'm even more thankful for the great number of excellent Transformers and G.I.Joe toys that have come out in the last few years. Generations, Reveal the Shield, Pursuit of Cobra - all excellent lines.

Agreed. Even matches up with the "recovering addict" aspect.

Be thankful for the 8 dollar price tag. Because over here in Canada, we're forking over about 11 bucks a figure.

ALSO, in your pic, your Apocalypse's crotch piece is a little high. I had the same problem, you just got to force it down a little. This way he looks like he has a stomach lol.
