Gee maybe stop charging us 25-28 bucks for single figures of Legends and Black Series that barely come with any accessories and 2 pack/ Deluxe figures for $33.99-60 bucks

Also they barely did shit for Power Ranger's Anniversary this year.

Rise of The Beasts barely did anything either.

Also agreed about being able to find figures for half the retail price at Ross and other stores

Such fucking bullshit. This is NOT the economy to be laying off people in. Is every company trying to enact the sequel to the Great Depression for 2029?????

and it is worse for the 3.75-4 inch collectors
more paint apps means it is deluxe?! a couple of helmets equals a deluxe classification!?

Sad news…but not unexpected. The massive hasbro finds at Ollie’s and Ross have overstock panic written all over it. Along with the fact target clears out every marvel legends series 3 days after it hits retail. Seems most economists say a recession is in store next year and many more companies are going to be doing this.

I see the large GI joe ship failed from Super7, and they are also having tons of product being dumped at clearance pricing at online stores. Im also seeing Neca do more direct to customer items skipping retail. So this is not unique to Hasbro. I think Mattel has the “Wish” movie stuff. I heard a couple of employees at Walmart yesterday looking at the massive train of shippers filled with that merchandise saying “ what do we do with this junk”? Just a crumby time for all companies.

So many talented people. But it is not surprising. I see Marvel Epic Heroes line clearanced in US stores and at the same time this line is almost non-existent in EU. Compare this to LEGO for instance, where you are able to get the whole sortiment almost anywhere in the world.

Once again we have a bunch of people who think Hasbro's laying off 1100 employees because of $25 figures and windowless packaging. This is way beyond the preferences of adult collector's.

Legends used to be $18 with accessories and BAF pieces. Now they are expecting us to pay $26 with no BAF for most releases, and some without even an extra pair of hands? Gee I wonder why sales tanked.

I feel bad for the hasbro employees being laid off.. I'd be pissed off if a new CEO took over, paid himself $9.4 million in one year while incurring losses and then started layoffs.

You're absolutely right! It's in part due to the fact that Hasbro bought E One for $4 billion and sold it off to Lionsgate for $500 million.

Also the fact that Disney has annihilated their Star Wars and Marvel IPs and Hasbro has been left stuck holding both of those turds.

Cleaned the thread. Socio-political-religious etc stuff - no go. Anything red/blue or fox/cnn - no.

Even if those issues somehow mingle into our toy collecting due to corporate decisions or individual actions, skip it while here.

RE: Modding - someone said it before I cleared it and they were correct - modding is reduced, only extreme circumstances. There are no active mods, just the admins which have multiple site and news duties as well.

That being said, if anyone would like to help mod, PM me directly and we can chat.

That would not surprise me if the globalists are trying to start another great depression, most of them are multi-millionaires, If not more so it wouldn't affect them.

I wonder how many jobs could have been saved if he didn't pay himself a $9 million bonus... egregious

His last name is Cocks...and acts like a Dick. You BET he didn't take any pay cuts. He might be already planning his holiday vacation in the Maldives.

Bummer, I still contend it will bounce back at some point, life always works this way. The collecting boom isn’t endless. We all only have so much space. As the toy collectors population continues to grow collections will be spread out over more collectors. All those with too much refine down the collection. Space is available, more collectors will exist, and the boom strikes again.

Also imagine this middle generation becoming adults and collecting again. For most of us now the same thing happened and soon all those reviving properties from childhood like skylanders or Ben 10 or whenever it was then I didn’t get into because of that gap comes back. There’s no adult stuff for a lot of those “kid” properties. Which means many empty shelves to fill at home and young adults with the budget to pay for it. And so on. Maybe in ten years we’ll finally get the SH figuarts turtles as a final hoorah!

Rise of the Beasts was garbage, too, & the toys for it weren’t great. Then all the Marvel fails. But on top of that Hasbro made some horrible missteps lately.

Idk where the “more collectors” belief comes from. Most countries that have collectors are facing some population crashes on top of everything else. The company will probably continue, but it’ll be a long while before they get back what they had.

Hasbro made terrible moves. They price hiked before anyone, did basically mystery boxes for Marvel without the gimmick, declined the quality & accessories despite continuing to raise prices, didn’t seem to give a damn about what fans want, & make frustrating moves with their rereleases & articulation issues & withholding the good stuff so they squeeze more money out of people who themselves are hurting in this economy. They screwed up on the Ghost Rider car Haslab, including the fact that they have yet to release Miphisto. They never have those army builders they claimed they’d continue to produce (there’s lost opportunity to profit). Bad sculpts, unappealing bodies etc. The list of mistakes goes on, & it isn’t like they don’t have ways to be aware of all of it. They could’ve course corrected. But everyone in charge of everything seems to just be morons who justify everything they do while putting down their customers & ignoring criticism.
Of course, secondary markets have gone bananas. Nothing lowers in prices, can’t trust any reviews anymore, scalpers have decided apparently to destroy the market (probably not even making their money back either), there’s more knockoffs than ever. Stores don’t gaf about these products & the companies producing them have decided to mainly focus on preorders anyway, not realizing there’s cons to that system as well.

its was always going to happen again after the pandemic. Hasbro was booming, now here comes the inevitable bust. A company relying on 50 year men doped up on GI Joe/Marvel nostalgia isn't enough to sustain revenue growth if they cant sell toys to actual kids.
