Um...like, I'm nowhere near 60 and I'm pretty excited about the Spymaster reveal, actually, because he's a fun, classic character. One of the things I love about Hasbro is their willingness to release fairly obscure characters here and there. I guess you guys would just prefer it if Hasbro released Iron Man over and over and over.

Note to Hasbro: You don't have to listen to all requests. That said, if you can see your way to Spymaster, can you hook a brutha up with a Blue Marvel??? Wendell Vaughn??? Sebastian Shaw???
Makes fun of Hasbro for taking requests for obscure characters, and immediately then turns around and make requests for obscure characters. Gotcha.

You are so right about this FF wave and, for me, there hasn't been a stronger wave in quite some time. I will secretly be laughing at all the people that poo'poo'ed this wave once they have second thoughts after passing it up. I'll be giggling at my keyboard as they vocalize their frustrations at the astronomical secondary costs of collecting a wave they didn't realize they needed until the reviewers they idolize start extolling of its virtues.
Sounds like someone's been bullied...don't worry, the bad men can't hurt you through your computer screen if you just shut your eyes.

Me thinks I triggered you.

Seriously, you know nothing about me, my tastes in characters, nor my sense of humor.

Thanks for playing and enjoy your Spymaster!

Only time I EVER tolerated the Fantastic Four was the first movie, coz I’ve always had a thing for Jessica Alba and Chickis was a quirky Thing. Other than that, I’ve found Fantastic Four the least enticing super group. This wave is an easy pass for me. The Walgreens set looked good enough if I wanted them.

That's too bad. The FF and their story function as an excellent gateway to cosmic Marvel. You are missing out on quite a lot of exceptional reading and storytelling by basing your opinion on a poorly conceived movie cash-in. But then again, you seem to have liked the movie...maybe you'll change your mind about the book some day.

But bully for you, maybe you'll enjoy Spymaster! lol

The fact that they made Demogoblin a BAF instead of a single-carded release pisses me off; I'm glad that we're finally getting a new one (as my Spider-Man Origins version is long gone due to breakage), but there aren't many people who are clamoring for him. They're losing money this way IMO

Didn't mean to personally offend, or give off the impression that I dislike new or obscure characters. As you know, for a collector that notion is pretty silly. Every wave has a peg warmer, some more than others. With a slightly generic costume and very little/if any mainstream exposure, I highly doubt Spy Master is going to be the first sold out when preorders hit or flying off the shelves months later. Blizzard, Eel, and many others fell into that same category. Despite fan & collector enthusiasm, many still warmed pegs at retail. Not hating, just stating.

Nice to finally see the mythical Super Skrull.

Also Spymaster is a fine figure. I look forward to picking him up someday at my local Five Below.

Seriously, what's with everyone throwing shade at Spymaster? Never heard this much crap about Tiger Shark or Grim Reaper, and they weren't the catalyst of a classic comic event like Armor Wars (that I'm aware of)...

Dude, Rock Python is one of the goofiest-looking and most "who the fuck is that?" figures that Hasbro has ever released, and he never got 1/10th the shit the kids in this thread are throwing at Spymaster. He's got tons of history with Iron Man, so a figure is totally warranted.

And even if you don't know who he is, one look at that pussy-magnet outfit of his should convince you he's bad-ass. Some folks have no taste, I guess.

Yeah, such a compelling argument, and you're right...I guess I'll buy him instead at Ross for $7.

Tiger Shark's entire wave was crapped on. But that was quite some time ago, too, and I suppose it's just worse now because with there being so many Legends getting made, the lesser ones stand out more. (People also are starting to get really tired of filler "Collector wanted" figs that you have to buy to get a much more desired figure's arm or leg.)

Rock Python barely gets a pass because people are used to Hasbro ticking away at the Serpent Society by now, so it's expected to find a member filling up an Avengers wave that you either suck it up and buy or just buy your missing BAF piece on eBay. Spymaster is something new to dislike.

But really, "so much history!" and yet such an important villain has just been relegated to the throw away figure spot in the Black Widow wave...

In all seriousness, he probably deserves at least one figure for Iron Man fans, but cool outfit or not he's just not exciting.

That's more like it. Flash that money to impress the bitches.

And yet you keep buying them...

Seriously, just wait for ebay to get flooded with the random BAF part you need. At that point the prices tank and you can get most parts for next to nothing, especially for the less-desirable BAFs (like Molten Man). It just takes a little patience.

I couldn't care less about the Serpent Society, so Rock Python is a pretty worthless character to me. But does it bug me that he was made and took up a slot in a wave? Not at all. There are a lot of odd characters I like, so I can relate to the idea of there being SOMEONE out there who's all like, "YES! ROCK PYTHON!! FINALLY!"

Hey, there's a difference between someone having "history" and being a super-important character in the grand scheme of things. Spymaster isn't that big of a deal in the modern era, sure, I recently downloaded and have been reading though the original Iron Man run (it's fun but very dated, obviously) and Spymaster figures very prominently into several of the storylines.

Besides, I'm sure you have some scrub character that you've been wanted a figure of for ages that everyone else hates. Maybe Hasbro will come through for you one day like they came through now for the Spymaster fanboys (all ten of them).

My dad was a huge FF fan. Personally, I found them boring. As plot devices they are ok (Spidey recruiting Torch for subduing Venom or Reed creating a device for teleporting heroes to Destination X to fight whatever crossover threat of the month is terrorizing the multiverse), but I tried to read their book in the 80's and 90's and couldn't. Too soap opera-ish for me (which crept into all the other Marvel books in the 90's and killed my enjoyment of the books). The movie was the first time I actually like them. Sadly, Doom was a joke and the 2nd & reboot movie were worse.

I haven't read a comic book since 2001, so I'm done with that chapter of my life. Not a brag or anything, I just tried to read a comic book one day in 2001 and couldn't make it through. Now, I see graphic novel collections at stores, I'll flip through them for a glimpse of the art, or read IGN reviews, but otherwise I've been out of the loop other than the various comic book films. I'll give FF another try when they show up in the MCU.

I love it when people thing they're offering the ultimate in snark when they add "lol" to the end of their sentence.

Never really been a huge FF fan either. Like you, I always felt they served well in some big events that happened in the Marvel universe but I never really cared much about their day-to-day stuff. Dr. Doom is one of the greatest villains ever, tho.

However, unlike you, I thought their movies are all dogshit, so...yeah.

But I'm sure the upcoming MCU reboot will be much better, and at the very least will be the first time they get Dr. Doom right in any movie. When the Roger Corman version remains the closest to the comics, you know you've got trouble.

Fair enough. If it isn't your thing, then it's really that simple.

If the film medium changes your opinion, then revisit the books if you're so inclined. Should that happen, check out the luminaries: Kirby, DeFalco/Perez, Byrne, etc.

The FF, for me, is about family, super-science, and some of the most enigmatic villains to ever grace Marvel's pantheon. Some pretty stellar heroes have also sprung from the pages: Panther, Surfer, the Inhumans, Him (aka Adam Warlock) and so on...

Enjoy if you want.

You seem to know plenty about Dolemite yourself, chum...

Nah, nowhere near 60, heh. I've always just been the type to seek out the oddball stuff in life. Just so happens that there's a lot of it in the past!

I don't think anyone is attacking Spymaster so much as they are joking about his lack of popularity.

But it's all part of the Legends ecosystem. Smaller name guys like this fill out someone's collection and allocate tooling budget for other characters, so I'm good with it.
