I remember getting an email on August 14 about coming changes to Pulse memberships. I think we saw the first of that at PulseCon with the exclusives. I was hoping they would break the news on the “tiered” system and rewards program last week too. I think many of us have spent some serious coin on that site this past year, and I know it would have been even more if they could get their product shipped before I find it at other retailers. I completely understand the issue there.

What would you like to see out of a rewards program? Something like GameStop’s membership system? Something different?

I can’t imagine what a tier system would look like, but I hope those purchases are retroactive. Does anyone any insight into what that might look like?

If I could have one ask out of the membership program, it would be early releases on preorders capped at one item per membership, to help limit scalping and not completely undercutting retail. I know I’ve canceled 4-5 transactions this summer because I found the items before they could ship. I’m about to cancel another if I find Toxin in-stock somewhere.

I know many of us were grandfathered in with free memberships this year, and the shipping savings alone have been nice, but $50 per year is pretty steep for a yearly renewal (especially when you’re already spending a ton on their products). Hopefully they release more details before the holidays, when everyone starts feeling a cash crunch.

What I want to see is if you spend $100 in a year, the next year is free.

Although, I think anyone that bought a Sentinel should be given a year for free as well.

Also, better shipping options than FedEx.

A points system like what Best Buy does where you acquire $5 reward certificates for every <whatever> you spend.

I don't know if I necessarily agree with point one only because $100 seems low, but agree there should be some kind of deal where if you spend x amount, the next year's membership is free. Definitely would support getting the next year free for all sentinel buyers. If someone bought multiple would they get multiple year's free though?

Well if the membership is only $50 a year, spending $100 to get it the following year for free should be easy. At least, you think it would be, but given lately figures seem to be hitting stores like 2 months before Pulse, it might not be. I've canceled so many orders from Pulse in the last 6 months due to my finding them in stores before they even ship.

I’m hoping that “teir” system will give members at a certain level priority when shipping preorders, kill the street dates.

As for a free membership, I’m good with giving the yearly subscription if they actually make this a loyalty program worth funding. If it’s free shipping and some worthless Marvel Insider points, then yes...please give me a free membership after spending $100. That should give me a lifetime membership if it’s retroactive, lol.

Silk arrived today. Haven't had a chance to open it up yet. Looks good overall. Extra 2 pairs of hand plus the Spider-Woman hand with web.

Other than the relative ease of getting exclusives, I can't say I see much value in my membership even if it is free. I understand that they can't undercut their retail partners by offering discounts but because of that I can usually find figures cheaper at retail.

I let my Pulse membership lapse when they started expecting me to pay for it. Not that I have a problem paying for a membership . . . provided they EARN the money. I've been a member of Amazon prime forever, and while they're far from perfect, I never looked back. For Pulse, however, they should pay me to be a member.

Case in point:

On the 16th. I ordered ML Series 1 Captain America, my payment went through as usual, I was just waiting for it to ship. It's now the morning of the 25th, and I'm still waiting. After almost a week I finally contacted them, but all I got was a vague non-excuse about "sometimes there are delays at the fulfillment center," and they refunded my shipping fee. That was the last I heard from them. Waiting for a response on a follow-up question, and depending on what/if I hear from them, I'll be cancelling the order today.

So what in all that did Hasbro Pulse decide was worth getting paid for?

Save your tiers and your vague promises of "perks." Just do your jobs, nothing more, nothing less. Getting what I pay for is all the reward I need.

...and about 6 months earlier. I too pay their Extortionship Fee just to get exclusives.

They have totally fucked up Classified availability for 2022. Great job team! Now please. Hold GI June so that we can get excited about adding more Pre-Orders to our burgeoning PO collection. We look forward to hearing the same tired old excuses about availability that we've heard since 2019. Just don't for one second think we believe you.
