Really could care less about the extra figures. I would've hoped for more Sentinel parts. I like the battle damaged parts so far, but a replaceable leg or arm panel or something. Claw marks? Stuff like that. And they should just add in another tentacle.

A failed Haslab project, it was going to be a life-sized recreation of the puppet with an articulated skeleton underneath. It didn't hit its first goal and they didn't extend the campaign like they did for Unicron. I found it highly amusing that some people reacted to its existence like it was taking the place of an alternative project that would therefor never see the light of day as if Haslab employs a "one or the other" mentality.

Unicron was interesting... bcs they missed the deadline and then decided they were going to make it regardless and kept the campaign running until the minimum PO was met.

I've heard rumors that Unicron plays a major part at some point in the Netflix War For Cybertron series that starts soon.

At the time I was 80/20 against the Jabba Sail Barge, bcs I dont really have a vast 3.75 SW collection and would be a random piece that takes up a lot of real estate... but now I am like 50/50 on whether I should have backed it or not. It really is the only toy I know that got released and immediately doubled in value. Most toys depreciate a lot and take years and a lot of luck to even maintain their value, let alone increase in value. But I predict the Sail Barge becoming a Grail collector piece in a few decades and being worth A LOT of money.
Obviously collecting toys as an investment is stupid... but that is one of the rare instances where you could actually double your money and the price is only going to continue to climb... unless Disney complete destroys the SW franchise... which they kinda already have... so who knows mb I am wrong.... like I said 50/50 on the woulda/shoulda/coulda |

Still, I don't think it was a particularly well run campaign on Hasbro's part, and I think Hasbro learned a lot from it given how much better operated the Sentinel campaign has been. |

Don't bother with him. Early on when The Rona was first designated as a "pandemic" he was VERY vocal about going to Target and other stores to go Toy Hunting because he was SOOOO bored and didn't see how a "pandemic" should change the way he lived his life in any way. His tone deaf lack of empathy about anything other than his own wants/needs are legendary here. Your best bet is to ignore him.
It's almost like Doomtron got reincarnated.

Hasbro owns Playskool (it's a subsidiary of Hasbro) and Playskool has made Sesame Street products, so then it stands to reason that Hasbro has access to the license. I think the main reason that project failed to meet its goal was really just because if you want a good Cookie Monster there are already some nice sizeable plush options out there.

Even factoring that it was going to be large and feature a fully articulated metal "skeleton" frame it was still an expensive pill to swallow when significantly cheaper alternatives exist.

Straight up! That's the Sentinel design I've been waiting for. I halfway expected this to be what we were going to be getting from Haslab, but I wasn't surprised to see a more modern take on the Mutant Hunting Robot.
If it was the John Byrne design, I'd have been in for 3 or 4, but since it is a modern design I'll probably sit this one out and wait to see what the next Star Wars Haslab project will be (hopefully it won't be a boring Sandcrawler). |

So the new Hasbro figure is right then.
Someone said they base their Sentinel height on the cartoon series and you know what, that is probably the best way to go about it.

Past 10,000 now but so far no indication if they plan to offer anymore Tier rewards. It wouldn't cost them any additional tooling to simply throw in an extra tentacle with every Sentinal. That's the least they can do for how far this thing has surged.

I think including an extra figure, two extra heads and a hand are the least they can do, and they've already done that...

Entitled punk kids smdh...
They may not have been prepared for this many backers and had to review options for further tier incentives. Even as it is now, the deal is pretty damn impressive. |
