I like some of the design touches here (Skeletor's Skele-Bionic hand) and some of it I'm not so keen on (Super-skinny Man-at-Arms). Still, they look like they could be fun toys for kids, just a question of whether or not the show/toys strike their interest.

Can't blame Mattel for trying, though, just like all the 80's franchises, if you don't manage to get newer generations hooked, your franchise is just going to die a slow death, or at best go through a continual cycle of reboots and hiatuses until something sticks.

Interesting. Hopefully this turns out better than the new SheRa cartoon. Love the Kevin Smith designs, but these have some potential. Can’t wait to see MerMan.

Speaking as someone who likes stylized "cartoony" designs,(Usually because I tend to draw in a similar style myself.) I dig what they're going for, although I will say that the design philosophy seems a tad scattershot.

He-man and Skelly look good in that you can look at them and even if you don't like the design, you can recognize them as those characters. Man At arms on the other hand, I probably never would have guessed that was suppose to be him.
Speaking of guessing, the "unnamed" I would wager to be the Sorceress. Her design is probably the worst just by way of barely even looking like she belongs in the same toy line, her design practically looks like an afterthought. Going off the style of the others, they totally could have been more creative with that character's deign, be it the Sorceress, or whoever she be.

[Edit]
I found an image of the character design in show, she def looks a lot more sleek there...Yeah, that figure of her...Something went horribly wrong.

On a side note, based on what I've read about the series so far, I'm getting the impression that The Sorceress might be Teela's "powered up" form.

So has anyone else thought of Death from Darksiders when they see Skeletor?

I feel like a He-man series designed by Joe Mad would have actually been pretty cool.

Yup. Why bother making cartoons and toys for kids nowadays when they have their phones and gaming consoles to keep themselves busy? No kid wants to play with toys anymore in this age.

That's not entirely true. Yes, there are several that have their phones, but there are a lot that do like watching cartoons and stuff. I had one student who would ask me what Marvel Legends were worth buying outside of Spider-Man. Many others ask me for anime recommendations.

Reminds me of one time, when I was in Wal-Mart looking for Netflix TF's. There was father next to me, and his son was going through the Jurassic Park section. He mentioned that his son was looking for a specific dinosaur from the line. Given how the father sounded, he collected too, so he is passing it on to his kid.

If i'm being honest, these aren't that bad, not sure why Skeletor's left hand looks like that, but He-Man, Man-at-Arms and Trap Jaw look sick!
