Hey there from New Zealand. Just introducing myself. I am Kerry. I have collected Action Figures since I was a child aswell as Avengers Comics and other sci-fi related material. I have a particular fondness for Marvel Comic Characters and I especially like the recent Hasbro Marvel Universe Figures. Since the big earthquake here in NZ I haven't been able to find any in the shops still standing.
So... I came on here to hopefully meet some like-minded friends.

Kerry

Thanks, hard to remember what normal is anymore here. We have had 2 really big quakes so far since the 7.2. The 6.3 was the one that caused two buildings in the city to collapse and 182 died. We are still getting big aftershocks, over 5000 to date. We are always on edge not knowing what's coming next. Lost of people have left the city.

It feels great thanks.

Yes it is. And so are the All Blacks who just won the Rugby World Cup and I can tell you it was a much needed lift to boost the morale of country desperately needing something to cheer about. What better way than becoming World Champions at our national sport.

Kia Ora!

Welcome to the site, I lived in Wellington for a few years so I know how hard it is to find figures normally! I always found that new lines were fairly easy to get hold of, but a few waves in and you might as well give up.

It was horrible reading about the earthquake, it makes a big difference when it's in a place you've been to and know people who live there.

Thanks for the welcome mate. The quakes have really messed things up here. Destroyed the CBD and bringing down those buildings killing hundreds. Kind of depressing really, especially since we still get aftershocks nearly everyday day it's hard to know if another big one is coming. We are sitting on top of three separate and nasty active faults here in Chch.

Still, collecting my figures and comics helps me take my mind of all this destruction, oh and NZ becoming Rugby World Champions help!

Speaking of Rugby, I must dig out my All Blacks Headliners Figures

Yeah, some of the people I still speak to are still working from home - they can only go into the office on a weekly basis on rotation, difficult times indeed. You have my greatest sympathies.

I watched the final with a few Kiwis and a few French people, I have to say I think the French enjoyed it more!

I think you are right, but I bet the kiwis after the final whistle will enjoy the next 4 years more though Besides, the score may not have been so close if we had someone who could kick goals on a little sooner.

I only go into the shopping areas and malls when I have to for supplies, and I realise like everyone else I take my life in my own hands to do so. I don't go near any buildings if I can help it. My sister was in one of the big hotel buildings down town working when the second big one hit, the stairwells were cracking and breaking away as she was escaping out of it. She saw all the bodies in the streets and buildings crumbling. She has trauma counselling now every week and wont leave her home.

Yeah, I was happy with NZ winning, would have been a travesty if France had won!

Last time I was in ChCh I popped to Farmers in my lunch break to see if they had any new Transformers, I then went out for a few drinks in the evening. I find it really hard to reconcile those memories with the pictures I've seen in the papers and on the internet.

That's really horrible for your Sister, I hope she comes through it eventually.

Thanks me too.

When it happened here it was like a scene from one of those Hollywood apocalyptic films. It has certainly changed our way of living now in Christchurch.

The Warehouse and Farmers in Riccarton are fill with the Transformers and Ben 10 figures at the moment. My son collects Transformers Figures, Posters and DVDs. My older son collects Alien and Predator collectibles,
