Instabuy. Though I wish his skull cap could be removed to reveal the human face beneath.

I can't say I'm thrilled with the diecast, but I'm definitely interested.

Well it looks a lot better than their 4 inch versions. It looks quite like the Mafex one my mate has. Aye, I'll probably get this one. And if it disappoints me like many have before I'll sell it. But I'm liking a lot of the extras there

NECA have Peter Weller licensed versions of their increasingly-dated RoboCop mold coming out. And it took them over a decade to convince him. Also seeing as how in the film they 'cheat' because the helmet can't actually fit over Weller's helmet-less Robo make up, I can't imagine an action figure being able to fit a whole helmet onto helmet-less Murphy head either. :P

Cool. Probably too late to call this a mafex killer since those have been out forever. But still, nice to have an alternative to what's out there.

Medicom nailed it with their MAFEX releases not that long ago and the Good Smile 'Hagane' version was nice too. Interesting to see another 1/12 Robocop so soon.

Not sure. Maybe the holster in his leg wasn't made big enough for the larger auto 9 and the little one is meant for that? I feel like I've seen this done elsewhere too but I can't find where. Maybe I just imagined it or deja vu or whatever lol

"Dated" in what sense? I think the NECA version of Robocop is the best 1:12 version produced thus far. It looks great. I fail to see how it's "dated," unless you mean to say that the movie itself is "dated," which I don't dispute. I tried watching it again recently, and the tech seems almost quaint. It's still a great movie, though.

The thing that might put this Hiya Toys version on top IMO is the die-cast components. The NECA figure is quite fragile.

Something about the Neca version always seemed off to me, especially the headsculpt. Looks like price for this Hiya is comparable to Mafex so Neca still remains good enough for those not wanting to pay close to $100 for a figure.
Diecast limbs tend to inevitably become loose and floppy over time so that's a strike against it as well.

This is neat. Is it really REALLY 6” tall? Is it 1/12 for sure? McFarlane likes to call his figures 1/12, same with Storm Collectibles…

Basing the arms off of the McFarlane figure was a weird choice, but whatever. The usual suit version mix-and-match, bizarre articulation choices, blah blah blah. I'm still waiting for someone to do a definitive RoboCop, the closest we've ever gotten is ENTERBAY's, and that's not exactly the easiest scale to collect in.

They also cheat when the chin guard just vanishes whenever he takes off the helmet.

That is something that's always bugged me. Every time the helmet comes off of Murphy the chin piece just disappears without explanation.

I think i might consider buying this compared to the ultimate edition from neca. Although the latter's advantage is that it has peter weller's face and the price.

No not the bloody movie (which is one of my all time faves), the articulation on the NECA version is EXTREMELY limited, mate. You can't even recreate most of his iconic poses. And the headsculpt is weirdly too thin and too tall or something. It's far too 'oblong' when it should be a lil more rounded lol. I never found the NECA figure fragile. Just bloody useless for anything more than basic posing. My mate's got the MAFEX one that this Hiya Toys one looks similar too and he's capable of recreating almost all the poses Robo is known for with the double jointed elbows and the shoulder articulation and the toe joint and such.

lemme go grab some of my mates pics of his figure I envy lol Especially cos he got it for £50 when it usually costs well over £100. Lucky git. How much is the Hiya Toys one?

You telling me the NECA is better than this MAFEX? lol.

At least they seem to be finally fixing the weirdly shaped head-sculpt in this comparison of the original NECA head and the new one. lol. Shame the body doesn't appear to have fixed the limited articulation

Like Keaton's Batman eye makeup lol.

With Robosock in one hand and an LJN King Kong Bundy in the other, you'd be unstoppable.

Yeah the NECA Robocop is a joke compared to the Mafex and this one from these preview pics.

This looks really cool, only thing I wish is that it was more in a 7 inch scale instead.
But I'm glad to see Hiya Toys blow NECA's efforts out of the water with the added articulation and accessories, something as simple as alternate hands is missing from the "ultimate" version. I commented on how lazy they were just repacking their TEN (yes ten) year old figure with a new head again for the 100th time on Instagram, saying how nice a fully articulated one would be.. Of course, they deleted it as they only want to listen to the boot licking fan boys thanking them for getting an actors likeness FFS.
