I'm curious to see how they do with Trek as their recent Judge Dread work has been pretty cool.

I'm very excited for this!
I'm a HUGE Star Trek fan and have been collecting Hiya's Aliens, Predators, Robocop and Judge Dredd lines. Their figures are very impressive. And Star Trek has not been well represented in the 1:18th scale. I have high hopes for this announcement! |

To be honest, I hope it's 1:18. Star Trek and Star Wars in the same small size opens up a host of awesome

After Playmates mucked up their supposed return to form with their latest Trek line, I'll take anything. The only Hiya stuff I'm familiar with is their RoboCop line and that 1/12 Robo is a nasty piece of work, so I'm guessing 1/18 is their preferred domain? Frankly, even 1/18 would be okay at this point, despite not having anything but Joes in that scale. I could even set aside one of my bridge playsets and print out some smaller chairs, let them have their own little corner of the collection. At that size they'd probably look better than Playmates in the Engineering set or on the Goddard ramp, tbh.
I just need them to go deep. Deep. The only way I'd accept an incomplete lineup is if, like, they don't do season 3 TOS uniforms (sorry, Uhura), skip the transitionary two-piece from TNG (wtf was McFarlane thinking???), or do all Enterprise characters in the same S1-3 plum instead of the S4 blue, that sort of thing. If we're leaving out Durango, fine, but Martok or Ezri? Or leaving a single Combs character on the table save those losers from Meridian and Tsunkatse? Nope. |

I hope it's more OG/TNG and less Discovery.

I'll take a wait and see on this line, but Hiya's been kinda on fire lately so I expect that their Star Trek stuff will be good.

I need me some STRANGE... New Worlds figures Hiya! 1/12 like your Rambo figure!
I miss when these threads would show up directly under the news article.

Just remember, even at 1:18 scale, they will be $20 each. Or more since Trek licensing is expensive. If they can at least release more figures from REAL Trek and not that kurtzman crap, that will help too. Hopefully Hiya will get some figures out that haven't already been done to death in the last few years at different sizes.

$20 isn't bad when TVC is $16.99 now

I'm not challenging anything anyone has said about Hiya quality -but that's not been my experience.
I have one of their Predators and two of their Aliens and they are great. Their Godzilla and Kong are better than NECA and SH Monsterarts. In fact, their Exquisite Basic Godzilla is my favorite Godzilla figure. I don't have any Star Trek figures, but I'll be keeping an eye out for whatever Hiya produces. |

Of course, that's assuming they'd make any character that wasn't a series regular besides a Borg drone, rando Klingon, or the Gorn. |

The colors are very "Strange New Worlds", but maybe we'll see other stuff too.

Just looked him up; what the hell happened to his pricing?! I've got 4 of him, 3 were carded for $5-10 a piece, the loose (complete) one may as well have been free. Did the new Playmates line bump up the pricing on the old line or something?

That's not exactly "forever ago" unless I am mistaken. And they're not late until Q2 2023 although I do expect they will be late. |

Cool. Give me Kirk, Spock, and Riker and I'll be good to go.

I feel like that is forever ago for only one tiny mention of an acquired license with no follow up. No real investment shown for the line. Which currently appears to be much more lucrative than Star Trek. Now this sneaky mention of Star Trek. It's not very comforting.

Yeah, saw that too. Seems like a translation error on Hiya's part.....though, it would seem like Paramount would have to sign off on a press release. So yeah, a bit sloppy there, one way or another.
Signs of a hastily put together deal & we wont see jack shit till next year...? We'll see,i guess... |
