One of my all time fave sci-fi vehicles is getting some love; so awesome! especially after the disappointing NECA release... The cinemachines line is so cheaply made, especially the APC and Drop-ship, they feel like they belong in one of those trinket filled loot crates. Really wanted a smaller scale like the NECA - but guess I'll have to erect a shelf just for the HIYA. Wish Aoshima would re-release theirs. Last edited by Tokyomeltdown; 10-24-2016 at 03:55 PM.. |

Judging by Hiya's previous releases, this will probably finally come out in two years and only receive limited distribution in outer Mongolia and parts of Okinawa.

Whoa. Very nice! Might have to buy that but I'm afraid of the price reveal...

Their Power Loader was $90 for a 3.75" scale version. So I imagine this will be in the $250 - $300 range. Hope I'm wrong and it's much lower.

Wow. The camera feed screens and control panels actually light up? That's hardcore. And the paintwork overall is absolutely outstanding as well. Interest +20. Yeah, I really hope this thing is under $200. If it's in the mid-to-high $100's I'd probably bite. I wouldn't use Hiya's Colonial Marines figures with it, however...the Marauder Task Force figs are much better and in the same scale. They make for great updated Marines. Depending on the price, this might work nicely with my GI Joes.

So how come the Hiya Aliens are the same price as NECA's much bigger Aliens? I've never been able to figure that out.

They're imported? That would do it then.

I'm just guessing a possibility that would account for the high prices.

They're imported, they're likely far smaller runs than anything NECA does and Hiya as a whole is a much smaller company than NECA. Hiya has 1 active license, with a potential 2nd license coming in the future (Predator). They likely have to pay duel licensing for Aliens: Colonial Marines (Sega and 20th Century Fox). Unlike NECA, they have nowhere to spread those costs around.
