That's a very valid point. A lot of the stuff is there if you're willing to pay outrageous prices. But when an item actually can't be found?

My Holy Grail is the Flame On Human Torch. I get him my MU collection is up-to-date. I have seen him on Ebay and have placed several bids, but no luck in winning.

Brain surgery is a breeze the hard thing is sitting in the Doctor's Office discussing the possibility of more surgery and have your wife look you in the eyes and tell you (I HATE YOU) and walk out to be with some guy she met on the internet. But as they say what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger, if thats the case I will one day be able to take down Superman.

The price goes crazy up.

I remember I was looking at a SOTA Street Fighter Ken (Red version) a couple of weeks ago. The guy had put it up for about 10 bucks a reasonable price for something that hasn't been in stores for 6 years or so.

Some dude put a bid like 2 days before it was going to expire. The day that it did, the winning bid was 50 bucks. And this thing was out of package.

So the moral of the story?

eBay has a lot of idiots.

There's not very good distribution in my area initially, so I've had to turn to online retailers. It used to be that if I waited a month or two after initial sightings, the figures could be found in my area with a moderate amount of hunting. Since the Archangel wave, though, that's changed. There are about ten MU figures I've never seen in the wild at this point. Since HTS.com stopped selling singles, it's been a challenge to find stuff for a reasonable price.

Thankfully, I've been patient with using eBay and finding stuff for nothing more than double retail.

But, yeah, as for my holy grail, it's gotta be the IM2 Mandarin. I've been watching the auctions on eBay and one went for $100 last week!

I watched the bid after you pointed it out, without any intent of buying just for the sake of tracking the price. That, my friend, is the sad part...watching a bid without actually trying to buy!
You need to throw up some pics of the collection in the showcase, it sounds awesome.

I wish I had the time/ money to be a completist.. but at the moment I'm not so I buy the ones I really want/ need when I can and hope/pray the rest show up at some point.
Also agree with these, since we have to get with special term and condition for it

I think the holy grail for me in the MU line might have to be the SDCC Exclusive Galactus on giant card. He is too awesome for words. Yes, he is the same as the version available at retail, but just the fact that he's on a giant freakin card is almost ludicrous. I love it!
Every SDCC exclusive can be RARE stuff since the only way to get that, we have to come to the fair.

I don't know guys.. I watch ebay daily for MU prices..

seems right now the most costly figures are the Exclusive ArcAngel and the Regular Vision..

only one reg vision seems to be on ebay at a time, and it goes for about 75.00..

Hell, I'm thinking about throwing mine up on ebay just so I can use that money for some of the other figures I am missing : )
