Yes, you don't.

You're comparing cheap, mass-produced action figures to limited-run, soft vinyl (sofubi) figures, which average around $100 and are mainly meant for display...at least the ones produced in Japan by Medicom and other makers. That's the market Mondo's going for.

I picked up a Mondo Space Godzilla sofubi for $150, decided not to keep it, and sold it for $260 on eBay to someone in Asia. The market here (U.S.) for these kinds of figures may not be as big as that in Asia, but it's a thing.

That said, TMNT isn't the sort of thing kaiju/sofubi collectors typically go for. But I preordered the set because I'm both an 80s guy and a sofubi collector.

Not weird at all. I managed to ignore 1/6 scale until Venom and Carnage came out… now I’m just waiting for No Way Home ending suit Spidey and Deadpool & Wolverine’s Wolvie. They are awesome to look at, but take up a ton of room, crappy articulation, and cost a ton of $$$. Sometimes I regret them, but it’s that way with all collectibles.
