The sound bites that the figure speaks once the batteries are placed are rather nice...they are loud and crystal clear. I love the fact that they can also be activated by remote control.

My only gripe with them, was that there was no soundbite included for the Auto 9 pistol, and that the classic "dead or alive" line was actually said by Alex Murphy's first encounter with Emile, before his transformation into Robo, and not by Robo when he encountered Emile at the gas station later in the film. But it's still Peter Weller's voice anyways...so I have little else to complain about.

All in all, an excellent figure. Mine arrived defective unfortunately, and I can't wait to get my replacement from Sideshow Toys, which has been taking an eternity. Hopefully they get their stock stuffs worked out soon, so I can finally get on to enjoying this figure.

Like you said, it's Peter Weller's voice. They could have gotten him to say almost anything and I'd listen. Imagine if Robocop could say things like "Transform and roll out!" It doesn't matter that that's a Transformers quote because Weller's Robocop would be saying it and it'd be awesome.

How was yours defective?

In photo number 060, you will notice a small peg sticking out of Robo's back, just above his right shoulder. This piece is not a part of the die cast mold on his back, and is in fact a seperate glued plastic piece. It was completely broken off inside of the box. Normally, this would be something I would just put a dab of glue on and be done with it, but if I'm dropping 300 dollars on figure like this, it had better arrive to me with no issues.

In addition, the figure had what appeared to be either dried paint or glue that had either run or been slopped on all along the armpit of the right shoulder. It had also run onto the black torso under the chest plate. It was really nasty looking, and I had to contact Sideshow Toys for an exchange.

It's been nearly two months since I requested the exchange, and to this day, I have had no progress with it. Despite several emails from Sideshow saying that it had been approved and they are just waiting on the stock to come in, there is some sort of shipping issue at the California docks, and the replacement still has not arrived in their warehouse. It's been incredibly frustrating to say the least.

As much as these cost I'd figure the QC ought be the best available. When I get a toy for about $20 and it maybe has some paint bleeding or something little it's not a big deal, but for anything upwards of even $150 my figure better be spot on perfectly the same and good as the next person's. I wish you the best of luck in getting a proper replacement. Sideshow Toys better resolve this or there will be... trouble.

That photo makes me feel like a failure as a collector LOL

Someday, maybe I can get one of these! Joe, those photos are absolutely phenomenal. I'm pretty speechless.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. This was a really fun figure to shoot. I was expecting it to be more difficult to pose than many of the other figure I shoot, but the thing is so sturdy on its feet that it was super easy. The shoot flew by (except for when my camera battery died).

Also, I'll be trying to grab a few other Robocop collectibles to get a nice shelf together. Probably going to grab at least 1 of the KasualFriday Robocop's (not sure if I want the concept one, the regular or both), try to find the Funko blind bagged one, maybe a few older pieces as well.

It sounds like this docks issue is delaying a lot of stuff that Sideshow is bringing in, including their own products (not just Hot Toys). I received an email about the Sideshow R2-D2, and they said it's being further delayed 5-7 weeks. :-/

As for this Robocop, I got mine through a local dealer - I'm in Canada, so I'm guessing he had Sideshow ship to him directly from Hong Kong. It's a pretty sweet figure. Hopefully you get yours soon!

This shipping thing has really become ridiculous. If it weren't for the fact that I would lose out on my non-refundable down payment when I first placed the reservation last year (which would amount to about $60 dollars,) I would have requested a full refund by now, purchased from somewhere else with the refunded cash, and never do business with Sideshow Toys directly again. Unless the boat is still floating around on the ocean, there is no reason why the company shouldn't step forward, send a representative down to the dock, and pick up the merchandise personally. It's BS.

Hey Joe...if you haven't picked it up already...might I suggest the Figma Robocop that was put out by Max Factory a few years back. That thing was beautiful!

It looks ok, but it's got a strange look to it, too. I can't recommend it, especially for the price. I've even thought about selling mine.

Hot Toys hits it out of the park again. My open problem is the lack of... upper face

I saw the Figma one at a comic shop a while ago. For the most part, I liked the look of it except for the hips and lower face. If I ever saw it at a show for a decent price, I'd likely grab it. I also originally wanted to grab the Play Arts Kai 87 Robocop, but after seeing that in person, I just didn't like the look of it.
