I loved the mix of GI JOE ARAH scale and Marvel characters.
I keep collecting them for the artwork, overall quality, and because part of me is a completist.
Speaking of completionist. I now have every female MU, X-Men and Ninja figure :P

A friend of mine's parents used to own a small comic shop and I'd always grab toyfair previews magazine and saw the listings for these and thought they look cool and the price was right. First ones I bought were 1st series iron man regular and stealth and punisher. I worked at home hardware at the time and was able to find out 1 of their suppliers was hasbro, found the item numbers for them and ordered 2 cases for "stock", I bought about a case worth and that got me hooked. since then I've been reading and watching reviews, customs, compairions, watching cc events and news info on release dates. I love the diversity in the line, the direction they're moving in and the fact the toys keep getting better. The character choice might not always be there ie 300 diff iron man figures but it's coming, and with Hasbro having seperate movie/cartoon lines working as tie ins, I do like the efforts. I wish scale was considered more so, but toys can't be perfect, especially for under $10.

I had started collecting GI Joe 25th series figures as prizes to myself as I completed different phases of my master's thesis. It was over 140 pages so I had many prizes!! Toward the end of that, I saw a Classic Iron Man and thought, "this is cool". From there, I picked up Daredevil, Iron First and the rest is history!

I used to collect Heroclix (still do but not as much) because i wanted 3d representations of my favorite heroes and villains but I didnt want the space consumption of Marvel Legends but when Marvel Universe came out I didnt jump on them right away i got my first pack in '09 I think it was. I picked up Captain America & Wolverine Comic Pack, and loved it. To this day I have 3 Ikea Detolfs and every figure from Wolverine Origins, Iron Man 2, Iron Man Armored Avenger, Thor, Captain America and from the main Marvel Universe line im missing Dark Galactus and the series 1 variant/running change spider-man, Victor Von Doom (NYCC Exclusive) and the new wave but its on pre-order so im not to worried about hunting for it

For pics of my collection head on down to this page

The first figure I got from the MU line was captain America I seen him on the peg n i said oh shit marvel figures in gi Joe size that is dope my exact words lol ...

Then the next four figures i grabbed were..
Juggernaut
Archangel
Colossus
Wolverine without mask

The reason why I still collect is I have so much fun hunting these figures down and going to toy shows and meeting people that collect it has opened my eyes to a whole new world to tell you the truth I use to not wanna collect because i thought it wasn't cool but i actually tell people collecting MU is a lot of fun almost as fun as my football games in high school and I'm gonna continue to collect because this year is gonna be F***ING awsome!!!__! Professor X looks so sick lol

It was in 2010 June/July when I had just completed reading the complete arcs of both Silver Surfer V3 and Wolverine V2, two of my favorite characters of all time. Next week I was getting some stuff at Walmart when I spotted both those MU figures hanging around, chillin' on the pegs. I was like yay! Got those two without hesitation, didn't even look at any other figure besides them. I never thought I would get into OCD collecting, but once I opened them up and started playing with them curiosity got the better of me and I looked up their series and numbers online. My world went bat shit crazy after that.
In the same vein, I randomly picked up a ROTF Deluxe Bumblebee and ROTF Voyager Optimus Prime. Then it was a series of hunts trying to get every figure possible. Now I am completely hooked to MU and Transformers.

I collected the original ToyBiz X-Men & Marvel figures as a kid back in the late 80's/early 90's, but then my main collecting interest shifted to Star Wars before Marvel Legends came out. I picked up a few ML figures here and there during those years, but preferred 3.75" figures. Eventually, George Lucas ruined Star Wars to the point that I no longer had any interest in it and I started getting back into Marvel Comics. During the first year of MU, I resisted temptation and only picked up a few of the figures I really wanted, like Deadpool, Gambit, a few Wolverine's, but then when series 2 launched in 2010, along with the IM2 movie line, I caved one day at a Target and bought every figure on the pegs. The next week, one of my good buddies sold me all of his MU figures that I didn't already have for $3 each, which pretty much caught me up, and I've been staying current with each wave ever since. Between MU and the movie lines, I haven't enjoyed collecting this much since I was a kid in the early ToyBiz years.

Dr. Doom / Absorbing Man CP was my first. I was collecting Joes only at the time. I saw Doom and told myself "ooh... just this one."

Those Toybiz figures were the "cool toy" my friends had but I didn't.

I began by just picking up my favorite characters, Hulk, Captain America, and Iron Man. Then I decided to grab every Avenger. And then any character I liked or who caught my fancy. I began collecting, because I have always been a fan of the scale (since GI Joe), and remember being disappointed that the 90's Toybiz line was too big. Since starting collecting, I have also gotten into customizing, so now I do that as well. I figure as long as I enjoy it and can afford it, why not?

It all started with me seeing a Random Red Hulk. I really wanted the ML BAF one after reading about Red Hulk in the comics, so finding the little guy was pretty cool. Before that, or after [I cannot remember] my brother got The Thing, seeing that The Thing is my brothers all time favorite ever. I told him not to get it too, saying it was just another thing to get into [was already collection DCUC, ML, Star Wars, Gi Joe, ect] then...well it got out of control, in a good way!

I think the first three I got were Spider-Man, Black Spidey and Flame-On Johnny Storm. The first two because Spidey is my favorite Marvel character. Johnny was initially going to be for a friend who collects FF stuff, but I liked it so much, I kept it and planned to buy him another one (which I was never able to find again). Then I got Silver Surfer and it all went downhill from there.

I remember this site having a lot of buzz about the line just before it debuted. I also remember a ton of complaints about how bad the first Punisher was (also complaints about the original DD mold began to pop up too).

I actually wanted X-Men to fight the Sentinel, and really wanted the select figures because they're so awesome, but eventually put it together that the Sentinel was Universe scale. So I started getting Universe X-Men to fight him instead. That was August 31st of 2011, and here I am today.

Being able to find them cheap and do trades with like-minded collectors, and a large helping of OCD.

Moon Knight and Union Jack were given to me as presents while I was in the hospital recuperating from brain surgery and meningitis. Afterwards I continued because I love the figures and everything related, plus it's a way to keep my mind busy and off the pain. Better than pain meds!!!!

I had been anxiously anticipating the release of Wave 1 since they announced the line. In late November or early December before release, the whole wave popped up on Ebay from a Chinese seller for like $130 bucks. I was about to buy it, but my wife stopped me at the last second. So I had to wait until the street date. Got the whole wave, and found and bought the whole second wave shortly after.

I was disappointed they weren't constructed like GI Joes, but at least they're Joe-sized. I've been hooked ever since. Don't tell Hasbro this, but I'll buy just about anything they put out in 1:18 scale.

It was a brisk afternoon in October of 2010; I walked into TRU to check the Transformers aisle when I saw an employee unpacking Galactus. I picked one up, stared at the box art and huge dio on the back for about ten minutes, then put it down because "I don't collect MU,.. only Transformers & Star Wars." Later that evening as I watched the Phillies eliminate the Red in the NLDS, I kept hearing "I am power incarnate" in my head... the very next day I went back and bought Galactus (using a $5 TRU rewards coupon) for $45 thinking he was too cool to pass, but I don't need anymore MU figs... just this one because it was different.

Yeah right.

The next week I went back to TRU and bought Colossus & The Juggernaut. A little over a year later and I have over 100 of these little bastards, including the two big mofos (Galactus & Sentinel).

I've always been a big Marvel fan, so the interest was always there; I just didn't want to expand my TF collecting habit to other things. I'm glad I did because I have as much fun collecting & posing these guys as I do any other thing I've collected and considering how cheap they are, I will be continuing.

I started collecting them after my son found these toys and started playing with them. When I was little I used to play with GIJoes at bath-time and I took my son to the store and he found the MU line. I believe I bought him a Silver Surfer, Warpath (X-Force) and a Captain America. One night while he was in his room with mom getting dressed I went to clean the tub out and put his toys away. That's when it started, I thought about how when I was younger and how cool it would have been if my dad had collected the GIJoes that I played with. Since then I have been collecting (MOC) and sometimes have to buy two of stuff because my son still likes them and will steal mine if I don't get him one. Also after finding out about the prices of some of these things it brought a tear to my eye to see my son play with Warpath in the tub...but then I remember that these TOYS are made for kids just like him and the smile he gets playing with them is priceless. Plus I have always loved Marvel and the 3.75" size (due to loving GIJoes when I was young); also I get to teach my son all about the Marvel Universe, and believe me, there is so much I don't know I get in to learning about it with him. All in all I collect them because I love toys and I get to bond with my son.

Yes the toybiz line was a bit disappointing to me as well. As much as I'm big X-Men fan I had to pass up all those X-Figures they made...
