What were your first figures?
Why did you start collecting Marvel Universe? What makes you keep collecting them? I remember the first time I saw MU, specifically I saw Mystique at a Walmart and really liked how she looked. I went back a few weeks later and she was gone. The first three MU figures I got were: Iron Man (MU orange classic version) Green Goblin Colossus And the rest is history... If a thread like this about MU exists already, I apologize. I realize how touchy people are getting about threads these days |

My cousin and i were hunting em as soon as we heard they hit the stores. picked up iron man and the XMO deadpool. main reason i started was cuz i never got to complete my ML collection so instead of hunting those relatively expensive figures down, i thought i'd start fresh.

I started off with Moon knight, my all time favorite hero, next to Deadpool and Gambit.
I started collecting the few I have from this line, because I've always liked the smaller scale of it, that combined with the decent price( at the time) and Moon Knight being in the first few waves with Hobgoblin and Jack? It started to look like a promising line with great articulation, where I could get figures of people I always wanted, but never were released, to my liking, and in my favorite size too! Then I picked up the first iron man, quickly ditched it for extremis, nabbed a fury, and that was my begining. Last edited by yourfacehere; 01-10-2012 at 06:12 PM.. |

i just got back into collecting action figures after about 3-4 years of not buying a single toy. the transformer classics and 25th anniversary gi joes, got me buying again, but when MU came out, i bought daredevil, then went back and got wolverine that night, and so begins my madness into plastic crack addiction. DAMN YOU HASBRO i have all except , ms marvel , archangel , darkhawkeye, havok.

I first saw MU at emerald city comicon (seattle) and thought it was the dumbest move that hasbro could ever make. A month later I picked up the original hulk cause I had a gift card, and the next day fred meyer had a sale and I was hooked!
That week i picked up Hulk, Silver centurion, Maverick, Blade, Hobgoblin, and Black suit Spidey. That's a lot considering I was in high school with no job So I'm just one big hypocritical collector. But I love it!

My MU collection started with seeing X-Force Wolverine, grabbed it right away and if I remember right it was the only one left. Just wanted to collect X-Force MU only when MU came out in 2009. At the beginning of summer 2011, saw Apocalypse, Mystique and Archangel at an LCS picked them up at LCS prices. Saw them again 2 months later at Target and realize dang I could have picked them up cheaper. End of summer the rest is history my MU collection just blowing up, and now almost done collecting all the old ones that I want. (I hope) So bring on all the new waves!!! Which I guess we're still chasing just as hard:P
Also been collecting Transformers, but only certain characters that I like. |

Mary Jane, Havok, Multiple Man and Winter Soldier.
Needed parts for some customs, and found a lot on eBay that looked like it would work. The more I get into the Marvel comics, the more interest I get. |

Also been collecting Transformers, but only certain characters that I like. Me: "I'm just gonna collect X-force, I'm a Transformers collector anyway." Symbiote: *look of skepticism* Years later...well most of you know us by now and have seen our combined collection. Effin X-force...Hasbro still hasn't let us complete any x-force team yet.

i bought MU ultimate cap and daredevil for the heck of it one day cause i wanted something to collect after TF Alternators phased out and stupidly missed out on Classics. Aside from that, i got really hooked after picking up the hawkeye two pack and my collection went up from there.

I first got Green Hulk, Spiderman, and Black Suit Spidey.
I actually grabbed these several times and put them back. I had never collected toys only comics and had stopped in 2006. I hemmed and hawed and finally caved. I keep collecting because it brings me back to my comic collecting days and I think they're friggin cool. Now my OCD won't let me stop.

First started when i saw the Taskmaster 2 pack. used to collect comics in 80's and 90's. i'm not trying to get a complete run of the MUs just the ones i like. Which is most. And to make matters more interesting i just got my son collecting. he is 8. so now when a new version of a figure comes out i give him the old one.

Day 1
Went to Meijer weeks before their initial release and Meijer had broken street date. grabbed the entire first series, including bullseye, white gloves punisher, ect. The Next day I go to TRU and ask if they have the XMO Wolverine set. They let me break street date and I get wave 1 of that. Been collecting ever since

Spidey, Green Goblin, Iron Man and Translucent Human Torch.
Grabbed them because they resembled to me like mini Marvel Legends. |

It was the exact same for me in Michigan. I found the entire first wave minus flame-on Human Torch and Bullseye at a Meijer randomly late January/early February 2009. I wasn't planning on buying anything that day, but I walked out with nine figures. Then a few days later I found all the XMO figures at TRU. Having nearly 20 figures right off the bat really drew me in.

It is better to say what is OUR first figures... it was the Captain America vs Wolverine Comic Pack just couple months ago..... she, my wife, started it because she wanted a collection of her own(I am a Transformers collector for more than 8 years now). I convinced her to buy Mega Bloks instead of MU in the beginning, but then she ended up collecting MU because there is more X-men which she likes. MU is too addictive... I think both together, me and her, has spent more than 1000 dollars already in these couple months... I started to buy MU too ever since after that.... and put it into her collection, and now I kinda stole her collection as part of my collection, MUHAHAHAHA... at least part of it Now we have both MU and Mega Bloks Marvel collection

My wife got me a Cyclops (my favorite character) & Hulk comic pack, Human Torch (another favorite), Venom, and War Machine on my birthday right before our first SDCC...three years and thousands of dollars later (I wish I were joking), my toy and comic book obsession came back with a vengeance.
I loved the mix of GI JOE ARAH scale and Marvel characters. I keep collecting them for the artwork, overall quality, and because part of me is a completist. Last edited by scottmurdock; 01-11-2012 at 09:25 AM.. |

Now that I think about it, I bought a Jean Grey at Walmart waaaaay before getting any other figures. I bought it on a whim for my Cyclops display.

I just kept checking out the MU scale stuff, and every time I wanted to pick one up but kept putting it off. Eventually I caved and bought one, and after that I went full blown OCD. I'm better now.
