In fact, I still consider the FC comic packs to be part of MU, not a separate "line" for XM:FC. But that's just my opinion, of course.
Well also, anything not Marvel Studios for movieverse doesn't have designs that are as good to draw from imo. For example, sure there is no Wolverine in a Marvel Studios movie but I would rather take a concept art based figure from them instead of Fox's movie Wolverine. Business-wise, I think Hasbro and Marvel Studios were going to make more money off their respective movie lines instead of a Hasbro line based on a Fox Marvel movie.

I think what Hasbro should do to kill multiple birds with 1 stone is to just make Marvel Universe the catch-all line with a mix of predominantly comic-based figures but also include movie-based figures during movie season(s). That way Marvel Universe can be on shelf year-round, and for example if we get a Silver Surfer movie, we can have 1 wave with a mix of movie and comic Surfer supporting heroes and villains, and a few unrelated figures tossed in. Same cards BUT that small card advertising the figure would have a "movie label" instead of comic drawing.

This year it seems like MU took the backburner for Avengers and retailers seemed to have abandoned it while it turned into Gladiator Universe. With 1 all-encompassing line we can get both movie and comic figures. Hasbro has done this before with their 1st Marvel Legends waves, and the same happened with Toy Biz.

Wolverine 2 comes out when, next year? So we can have a Marvel Universe wave around Wolverine 2 but not entirely:
  • Movie Wolverine
  • Random ass Wolverine from a flashback or some other scene that is deemed important but dropped but too late to stop
  • COMIC Sabertooth newer costume
  • Comic Wolverine as Death
  • Comic Genesis
  • Comic Ogun
  • Comic AoA Weapon X with swappable parts from Weapon X #4(burned head, clawed left forearm), and Weapon Omega
  • Comic OMEGA RED
  • Wolverine 2 villain
  • Comic Forge
  • Comic 1st Appearance Sabertooth

The only one Im not trying to offload is Beast because we're not likely to get that look again.

And thats why I think MU has dont pretty well. The followed up a scale and character line up that had just utterly failed and turned it into the line to beat.
Trying to say what we would have done better makes me chuckle.
SOME figures in SHS are indefensible - typically female figures in particular. On the other hand ...
Doc Ock
Ghost Rider (I can see either side on this one)
Green Goblin
Thor
Mole Man (no equivalent in MU)
Magneto (body, not head)
Thing
... all are better than their MU counterparts. (Doc Ock would be Spider-Man, but same idea.)

Other figures like Daredevil and Spider-Man have only recently been upgraded to the point where an MU figure is superior. Many people still prefer Colossus in SHS, but I prefer MU. Even the SHS Venom was really great in terms of detailing.

My only issue with SHS is that the legs and arms tend to pop off on SOME of the figures - but not all. I have no idea what is up with their quality control but many hold up amazingly, and Electra will completely disassemble on her own. But, I have the same problem with some of the MU figures.
