how awesome will 2013 be when people realize they were wrong and pick another date, like 2022. I Think that one is in a book somewhere.

and isnt the Rapture again in October? :P

I did a lot of research into Doomsday theorys, especially failed ones. This one is the same as all of them. Wrong. wanna know how easy it is to start one? go on 4chan and say 2014 is when the beetle will decend and devour the true jewish king, ushering a reset in the calenders and flavor. They'll take it and run with it and it'll be on CNN in half a year and a movie in 2 thanks to Roland Emmerich

Wrong thread buddy for all that info. I think your reading into what he said too much, its a damn joke.

I doubt their accuracy...otherwise they'd have known when their own civilization was going to end and prepared accordingly.
Rule of thumb: if they did not have deoderant, their science sucks.

This.

The Marvel brand is doing great, and there is such a deep catalog of characters to use and new ones being created every year that it can keep going for a long time. And of course, the longer it goes, the more necessary certain major characters will need to be re-released and updated like Spidey and Hulk for example.

I think the most appropriate line to compare MU to, the only one with the charecter base and movie support to be comprable is Star wars which has been a staple in 3.75 figures since 1995

Hopefully until we get every character in the marvel handbooks including the 60s character lol but more realistically hopefully a long time this is the only line im 100% committed to, it helps I dont collect anything else except the random, Horror icon or Transformer that may come along.

I see no reason to stop. With the longevity GI Joe and Star Wars have seen I see no reason an older and well established property can't hang.

Does that sound dumb with all the "see"s?

Well I've just recently got into MU, and I've got alot of catching up to do. I hope it goes on for quite some time, because now that i'm in i'm addicted...this coming from a longtime DC fan.

I'm all in to and I my only complaint so far is that I wish DC would get on board with quality 1/18 scale figures like the Marvel U figures

I agree, i'm starting to appreciate the 1/18 scale figures more and more. I wasn't crazy about DC's Infinite Heroes line, as they were a bit small compared to MU and G.I. Joe. Also the detail wasn't that great. Maybe since DCUC is going under we'll get them in a smaller scale.

I hope. I'd love a decent MU scale Batman, Joker, Harley Quinn... making customs for all that is just a pain sometimes.

Yeah compared to other lines they suck but by themselves they are passable. I almost have my complete, or as complete as the line allowed, JLI & Satellite League and that is all I wanted from that set. I will be on the look out if Mattel ever gets their act together and makes a concerted effort for this scale in the future though

Truth be know if it hadn't been for DCIH I might not even be collecting these toys, I saw a Capt Marvel figure and really liked the paint/coloring and said for $2 'why not?' and shortly there after I saw Falcon, Thor, and Spider-man 2099*which was one of the first comics I purchased* and the rest is history and I'm like 60-80 figures in

We saw with their Green Lantern line they can do nice 4" sculpts... and the articulation on their Avatar figures was decent. So combine the two, DC toys might not suck.

Right, but there hasn't been one consistent line. They've rebranded, rolled out different lines, etc.

Green Lantern has never really held alot of interest for me, so I didn't pick up any of those figures...now what I would like to see is some quality Dark Knight Rises figures in that scale...along with the Movie Masters line of course.

How did this thread become about 3.75" DC guys?

I'd love it if Hasbro had the rights to make DC as well as Marvel so we could have figures from both universes compatible with each other.

TDK did have a 4 inch line, but it was just scaled down versions of the 5 inch generic line. The only one that didn't have previous 5 inch treatment was the Gotham city thug, which was only a MM figure. Overall the line was fairly yawn worthy...so i'm thinking something with the detail and articulation of Movie Masters, only in a smaller scale.

The Batmobile from that line was pretty sick.
