Well, not really. Unless you are dead set on not having that many of the same figure to represent 2 different characters. Scourge looked exactly like his Sweeps anyways. You can do what I did, I painted all the red bits (and the eyes) on Scourge yellow. I got the inspiration for that from the BC set. I liked how they looked exactly the same, yet different at the same time. A little red Testors on Scourges eyes and open his wings (leave the Sweeps wings "stock"), bam, just the effect I needed. I have a couple of pics if you like?
Also, did you disassemble their legs to paint the vents? What's with you man? C'mon! (j/k)

Now that might be something I will try after seeing your pics, especially since I seem to have no problem finding Generations Scourge around here now. The only thing I'd need would be paint. Do you think Gundam markers would work instead? It might be easier for me to do the detail work with that instead of a brush (I'm not that good - little to no practice beyond painting walls)?
Also, did you disassemble their legs to paint the vents? What's with you man? C'mon! (j/k) ![]() Scourges legs are really easy to take apart, 2 screws and 3 parts. 2 leg halves and a foot, which can be left attached. I found it easier just to take him apart rather then try an paint the areas without doing so. The head is a little tricky though. It is in 3 parts as well. Face, light piping and the back of the head (which will be left on the ball joint). Get an exacto knife to CAREFULLY and evenly pry apart the face area from the light piping. This is much easier like the legs to do if you dismantle him first. If you have any questions at all man, please feel free to PM me. I'm always here to help. |

Sorry about the late response Treble. From what I have seen, Gundam markers are more expensive then small bottles of Testors (enamels). I get mine at Micheals for $1.50 a piece and they last, for me anyway and I do a fair bit of painting, quite awhile. They (Micheals) also have the small detail brushes that are essential for clean apps. Trust me, the few dollars spent on a couple of good brushes will be worth it and they will pay for themselves. I am by no means a pro but, I can get pretty good results. I have found myself looking for figures to do touchups on, silver here, gold there. It can be really fun as well. Practice on an old figure first just ot get the hang of. If I can do it, anyone can bro!

My son does, so I do by default.
My brother did when we were kids, and he found his boyhood collection in his garage. My kids and I are going over his house tonight to retrieve they collection.

Your son is very lucky. Make sure he takes care of the Dad! I'm hoping, like yours, the collection can be passed on to my son one day.

I would say 4-6 depending on the toy in question for troop building. I mean it can even go beyond that, again based one what toy, to determine the size of the army. For example, Hand Ninjas I'd probably get 6 and add a leader into the mix. That to me would be a troop.

I'm fine with smaller but only one that I'll aim to really make into an army are Zombie Vipers. If I can get my hands on more then 10 I'll be happy.

Hisstank also has a ton of pics of various collections. There's one of an all-out Cobra "presentation of the troops" that has what looks to be at least 500 figures. I'll see if I can find the link again.

![]() ![]() Gotta get a shot of all my HYDRA goons together with Strucker and Viper... ![]() The thing about army building for me is making variants nad specialists in the group- keeping some soldiers "stock" and the rest unique ut still in uniform. AIM goons are the very best- you can cut off weapons and pouches from SW or Joe figs and customize the standard trooper like crazy... Unlike standard "army builders", I have to personalize SHIELD agents: ![]() ![]() Using GI JOE heads, you can have a ton of great SHIELD agents (look at ebay for lots of them from the three pack). I like what you did with the Hammer Drones... I did something similar and I call them the Hydroids.
