They are doing an X-Men legends wave instead. I guess they figured they wouldn't sell. Plus honestly, Days of Future Past was nowhere close to a family friendly movie asking for a toyline.

I mean no x-men are slightly if not more violent than the avengers and they turn violence into laughter where as x-men feels dead serious to make us not laugh.

All true but I could list a ton of movies that had ton lines but really were not kid friendly movies. Remember the Kevin Costner Robin Hood? Tons of toys for that but not a movie made for kids. The fact is that kids still get to see these movies and that's why they have toy lines. DoFP could have sold toys easily.

I know this thread may be about ML, but this was the perfect opportunity for Marvel Select to release a special package Sentinel. Bigger plastic means bigger price tag, but really, they would have sold out

Might be possible that they just don't sell as well since even Toy Biz didn't make movie figures for The Last Stand. But that movie was rushed so might have been the main problem there. Or no faith in the ability for movie based figures to sell. Hasbro did do a X-Men Origins: Wolverine line but think the X-Men movie brand as a whole is pretty much tainted thanks to XMO and X3 in addition to not being made by Marvel Studios. So poor branding plus possibly being told by Marvel to not really endorse or legitimize the Fox movies which Liefeld randomly hinted at so not sure if true. But based on the fact that Hasbro hasn't done any movie figures for First Class and DoFP, might as well be the case.

Pretty much left with Hot Toys and Marvel Select for Wolverine figures now since even the MS movie Mystique was cancelled.

if Marvel Studios owned the movie rights there would have been toys. GOTG proves that point. Only comic "nerds" and "geeks" such as I would even know who they were....X-men unfortunately is a popular brand skewed by sub-performing movies...therefore why invest in an old jalopy(XMEN) when you can get the brand new car(GOTG). Avengers and the rest will continue to get new toys but if you look at the overall scheme... all those toys are really marketed towards Adult Collectors... that's where the money is. Lego sets and finally a bone or two for the kids... just so all bases are covered

I'm hoping we'll see movie Quicksilver as a variant for Age of Ultron Quicksilver, if he gets an ML.

I'm hoping for the same with Scarlet Witch. Satanna's almost there, but drop the heels for this one please!
