Hello everyone.

I recently made a purchase from Mattel online. I wanted to return it for a refund and emailed them before I received the package. They told me what I needed to do was to refuse the package from my postman. I was unable to do this as he left it on my porch without ringing the door bell. I proceeded to open the package and look at the items but of course did not open the actual figures. Anyway, I sealed everything back up and am wanting to get my money refunded.

Do I need to just go to the post office and pay return postage?

Can I run my mailman down and hand him the packages?

Do I need to do anything in particular to be sure I get my refund from Mattel?

If anyone has dealt with this before, advice would be appreciated.

thanks

I would contact Mattel and tell them that your mailman left the package on your doorstep and you couldn't refuse it. Then, ask them to send you a return label.

Refusal of a package doesn't have to be when it's delivered. You're fine.

Just seal it back up and write "return to sender" on it and drop it off at the post office. It will go back. You don't need to pay return postage.

A few MOTU things. The online purchase didn't go terribly well and I also decided I can't in any way afford to begin getting in to this line. They looked nice though.

So if I just put return to sender on the box and take it to the post office I'll get my refund?

Is that a sure thing? I'd hate to have no figures AND no money...

Personally, I would try eBay to sell them. I am getting into the line myself actually...what figures did you get?

More than a few really. She-Ra, He-man, Skeletor, Skeletor (armored), Hordak, Leech, Panthor and Battlecat.

If you'd take them all you can have them for my total plus shipping. I just want to get my money back.

Damn, I'm sure someone will take you up on that offer. If he buys your other figures I'd buy Battlecat.

The total for the lot with taxes and shipping (2 boxes) was $186.88. If anyone wants them, they can be yours for that and shipping. You won't have to deal with Mattel customer service, which is lacking in my opinion.

But like I said, unless someone buys the lot or unless they are all spoken for, I'll just send them back as I don't want to take a loss or go through ebay or be stuck with a couple of them when I don't need to be.

How did you end up buying them in the first place? Tax refund and a plastic crack addiction (I have one too) would be my guess. I think you could probably sell those figures and make your money back while simultaneously helping out some Arkers. If you can make ends meet without returning them then I say keep them dude. Oh, and what did Battlecat cost you?

Wow, I see an opened battlecat and he-man already at $45 on ebay opened without the package. Didn't realize they went for that much.

I'm not real great with updating my BST, but shoot me a PM and maybe we can work out a trade or something. Honestly though, I just wanted to offer you some good advice, but I would like to get a Battlecat. For some reason I really like that toy.

Ya Man, Ebay that shit. I am interested in She-Ra if you are interested in parting with just one...as I got the most of those coming from Mattel as well.. Leech would be cool too.

I decided to take DFDs advice and part with them on here with fellow arkers. I've put up a trade thread.

you'll get your money back from the seller but it may take awhile. Unless you contacted the seller and they agreed to pay return postage, you will have to pay postage for returning the package since you opened it in the first place. to return a package with guaranteed no hassle requires you simply write 'refuse' on the package and do not open it.
