great, i really looking for these series, even honestly i only care for Black goliath and Loki. Frost Giant also i really like but not too much like the others...too bad they release thor cyborg, that robot are 100% not interesting thing !!, hasbro should release more figure super hero with black goliath, such as Hercules and the others

Winging in with some info for UK MU collectors, Kapow Toys are taking pre-orders on these now for the princely sum of £50 (that's $80 for the rest of you) per figure.
So if you want one of these in the UK just be prepared to bend over for the privilege.

I was at a Walmart today and saw a space and a tag out for these. The tag was for MU Gigantic Battles and the price was $24.95 (if I remember right). I asked a store worker about it and he scanned the tag. He said they didn't have any but they had two on order (two cases I hope). He said he thought they might be here in about a week (not that I'm overly sold on that, he didn't seem to know much about it in general). That got me all excited to hunt these down now.

And why not? That's the name of the character.

Or are you going to tell me I can't say Black Lightning anymore, either? Or how about Black Panther?

Ok, so if that $25 price tag proves to be accurate then I've got say shame on Kapow toys for selling them at 3 times the price. I know times are tight and they're a business but I've gotta put my sensible hat on and say that's too much...but that loki/frost giant is looking damn good.

I was only being sarcastic, I meant that where as Black Panther makes sense, the Black in "Black Goliath" is an unneccessary/inappropriate reference to skin color. I don't call my buddy Sean "Black Sean".

Oh, and for fun, Black Panther writer Reginald Hudlin's take on the topic

HUDLIN: For me, I was a huge Black Panther fan; there was nothing “token” about him. I just thought he was a character with a tremendous amount of integrity and stood on his own. I was not so much into Black Lightning, although certainly, perfectly fine idea. Black Vulcan the cartoon character was always sad to me, because he didn’t have any pants on. And also, the name — I mean, at least Black Lightning, that is sort of a phrase. Black Panther, there is an animal called the black panther. Black Lightning is a phrase. Black Vulcan is idiotic. It’s like Black Goliath: inappropriate. I mean, “Really, dude, Black Goliath? He can’t just be Goliath?” That’s when it all goes wrong.

from the full interview here: Hudlin Entertainment - Goodies

That's all I was sayin'.

I don't dispute that Black Goliath was a bit insensitive but I always assumed it was a byproduct of Marvel editorial policy. They used to have a policy that no two characters could have the same name and it would lead to a lot of weird stories, like people fighting over names, etc. I remember when they killed off Warlock in X-Men right before Adam Warlock came back for Infinity Gauntlet, and one time Madame Hydra shot Viper in the head, then took his name. If Black Goliath was the worst that happened, he should feel lucky.

Oh I'm not trying to be some champion of equal rights here, I just think it's funny that they actually used to say Black Goliath in the comics.

OK, so whats the latest on this? Anyone? There seemed to be a lot of hype last week on this, but then it just kinda died in the water? I see them on ebay, but Im not buying overseas, nor the ToyArena's jacked up price.

Just wondering if anyone spotted more tags at WalMart.

I've seen the tags in three different Walmarts now. At each I have asked one of the workers, and after scanning the tag they have all responded with "Huh, we don't have any and it looks like we don't even have any on order. I'll put a couple on order for you right now. It should take about a week to get them."

Frankly I don't think any of the workers I have talked to even realized that this was a new item that hasn't actually hit retail yet. They just assumed because there was a tag out for it then they should be able to order some.

So really...it's anybody's guess.

If it said two on order, it means two items. Not cases.

It usually does take about a week or so to get them in. Of course, the associate can order them, but they wont process until the warehouse gets them. So it could take longer, and it probably will.

New items like these will automatically order themselves at first. Like you said, they have not hit retail yet, so I'm sure the system will show that zero will be coming in, but as it gets closer to release then it will show that 2 are ordered and then coming in.

The associate could also be saying that he will "order" some, just to get you off his back. The department manager is the only one who can order items. Maybe that's who you talked to, or maybe it wasn't. Shady people those Wal-Mart peeps...

The tags have shown up around here and today a very helpful employee{go figure finally} actually scanned the tag for me and said according to the scanner they should be getting them in about a week.
