Okay...let me say at the outset that the HYDRA soldiers are the most overlooked and under-rated figs released so far this year.
Just some minor tweaking gets you badass officers or variants and they actually look better without their harness stuff.

rom the Cap Line, these are the very best figures: all the MU articulation, including thigh swivel, arm and wrist swivels too! No idea why they did not do this for Cap (the star of the line!) but went all out for the soldiers.
Weird.

I Dullcoated these so they look more lifelike (takes off the plastic shine) and painted their eyes red, then added custom Hydra patches and some inkwash weathering to dirty up their boots and such.

Anyone else collecting the comic version Hydra soldiers? I'm loving them as officers to the MU Hydra soldiers and cap line darker colored) troopers.

Anyone know if they make a comic-colored Darktrooper 9the big tank of a guy in the bigger packaging)?

Bob's the goon in the back right. He's fodder.

Really, I'm seeing both kinds now...and I was a little out off by the version with the larger helmet because the harness/belt was brown for some reason- really throws off the comic look to me.

So I ditched the harness and it looks 100% better for it.

I also used Testors' gold enamel for their buckles and clasps- looks nice and shiney against the green.

oh, and the pouchs on the one in the center are rom a CYclops I bought extra.

I gotta get pics of these guys with my six MU Hydra goons nad my custom Viper...and finish my Baron Strucker!

I've got two movie and two comic colored Armored versions. Really wish I would stumble upon more of these as they're really nice figures.

The single carded figs have a brown or yellow harness/backpack thingie and dont have that round HYDRA logo (I added that) but they're still really worth picking up!

Hell, I'm not arguing with you, Jason. But it would sure be nice to find even ONE at retail so I could see.

This is how I feel exactly. The comic color Hydra soldiers look the best and I can't wait to find them in the wild. I could easily use 5 of these guys. Thanks for posting pics.

Edit: Three months later I found one in the wild. I now have one of each kind of comic colored Hydra soldier.

I happen to have one of these and wasnt too impressed with them at all....yours on the other hand are excellent. We'd see more people collecting armies of these if only they came from the factory with slight differences, better paint apps and were readily available.

I flipped through cap toys at tru one day and magically stumbled upon one comic colored one. It's the only one I've ever seen in the wild. I see movie version/color every day though.

Very nice. I haven't been able to find any comic colored versions, but I have a couple of the movie colored versions and they are pretty nice figures.

These are good figures, but the movie helmet doesn't do anything for me. I hope MU re-packs these in an army builder pack with a comic head.

I'm not a big fan of the Cap line Hydra Troops either. I also really don't like the softer plastic they're made out of. Jason's, however, are all kinds of awesome!
